Aiden continued, “Haley did not think that would happen because she did not bring you together, but my sister is not the Soul Searcher. That was how she felt when she found out you were married. The magic within Haley that she took on has been festering and now it is going to…”

I snarled, “HOW DID LEXI FIND OUT? WHO FUCKING TOLD HER!” James opened his mouth, but King Aiden cut him off, “That’s not what’s important right now. Can you just let me explain? You shout at me that I never do, but when I try there are CONSTANT interruptions. It’s insanity and infuriating. This is why I don’t explain things in full. I get no respect when I try.”

Bjourn cursed, “SHIT!” Heath asked, “What? Where is Lexi?” Bjourn turned his phone around. There was a picture of two men on his phone. They were in a house with a phone I recognized as Lexi’s. There was a banner that saidsorry Harper’s boytoy lover she wants space.

The tears I’d held back spilled over. Emmaline was calmer but still upset. She cried, “He’s shattered, Lucas. It hurts.” Alpha Lucas rubbed her back, “Baby girl, pop out of here for a minute. Get your bearings” Aiden agreed, “You should. Your father just popped into the main room, and he’d love to see you.” Emmaline nodded and popped away.

My only thought was she was right, I was shattered. I went to my knees. Bolt was howling in agony. Heath sighed, “Sophia please sign the papers.” King Aiden conjured them and handed them to her. He reiterated, “Again this is not going to be your problem anymore.”

Bjourn said, “As much as it pains me to admit, the Fairy King is right. We have a rather large problem coming at us.” Suddenly Alpha Eric roared, shaking everything in the room in his anger. Alpha Jackson groaned, “That’s bad.”

Heath looked at Bjourn and asked, “Is that what I think…?” Bjourn’s eyes were blazing. In fact, all of the Hackura’s eyes were blazing. Bjourn answered through gritted teeth, “Yes, it’s Haley’s anger. This is worse than anything I’ve ever felt from her.”

Aiden answered, “Because you wouldn’t listen to me! I told you the magic she took in that ritual has been festering. Her love for Lexi perpetuates it because she’s trying to help her. Her eyes changing were because she was fighting the magic that wanted to lash out. Haley is light itself. She is not designed to feel such devastation….”

He was interrupted by a pop. Haley screamed “YOU BITCH!” She flung Sophia into the wall. King Aiden said, “For the record, that is the problem everyone should’ve been worried about.” Haley’s eyes were now solid blocks of color. Green, yellow, pink, and gold. She was also covered in blood. I inhaled then wished I hadn’t. It was Lexi’s.

I watched in a detached kind of way as Haley flung Sophia towards the window. Alpha Eric reached for her, but he didn’t get there in time. Sophia seemed to hit another wall, but Haley popped and punched her. Sophia screamed in anguish as she was forced through the barrier.

I watched as they fell towards the ground. Aiden snapped and they landed on an inflatable mat. Haley didn’t even take a beat. She began to beat the shit out Sophia. She drop kicked her and flung her into a tree.

Alpha Eric turned, “Aiden, stop her. You’re the only one that can leave.” King Aiden laughed, “How sad that fact is considering I could not be bothered to care. NICE SHOT, LITTLE SISTER!” He shouted as Haley slammed Sophia’s face into her knee.

Aiden complimented the Hackura, “You taught her well. To stop her would hurt her, and I won’t do that.” Bjourn asked, “What does that mean?” Aiden explained, “She’s been fighting the magic to avoid going into a depressive state, which would’ve caused you all to step in. She didn’t want that for Lexi and Eric’s sake. She’s been dealing with the mother in law from hell, and yes I mean that literally. Her friend’s lives are chaotic. She’s trying to balance it all on top of this powerful, ancient magic.”

Alpha Eric reiterated, “What does that mean?” Aiden sighed, “It means that this is not Haley lashing out. Probably the first punch was, but now it’s the magic itself. Lexi is shattered which shatters Haley worse than it does Lexi actually. Lexi’s emotions are practically consuming Haley to the point she feels it’s happening to her not Lexi. Not to mention Alpha Chase is hurting which adds to Haley’s. She has to lash out, and let’s be honest that she wolf needs a kick in the ass.”

Alpha Eric sighed, “She got that. Now, this needs to stop for both of them.” Aiden shrugged, “Again, how sad it is that I do not care. I care about one person out there, and it’s not the selfish she wolf, who didn’t even give you all she promised to save my sister when King Damon had her.”

Alpha Eric growled, “Are you REALLY bringing that up right now?” Aiden winked, “I am. She got your warriors hurt, and Emmaline’s wolves warriors. Your own lead warrior was ready to tear her a new one as the saying goes. If he had been injured and that upset Bexley, I’d have killed her. Luckily, for her Bexley’s wolf was fine. Just remember how mad you were when said selfish she wolf did that. Then all will be fine and you’ll agree she needs an ass kicking.”

I didn’t care about this argument. I felt weak and so did Bolt. I whispered, “Is she leaving me?” Everyone turned to me except Alpha Eric. My dad put a hand on me, “Son, we will figure this out.” Dylan confidently said, “She’s not leaving you.”

We all turned to him. I frowned, “You sound so certain.” Dylan nodded, “I am so completely certain she’s not leaving, and she WILL talk to you. Eventually. I cannot pinpoint when that will happen other than soon. TWO very important reasons come to mind as to why.”

I growled, “What two reasons?” Alpha Eric yelled, “Dylan, for the LOVE of GOD shut up! Aiden! Go try to calm her down.” Aiden shrugged, “No.” Bjourn interjected, “I don’t think he can. It will have to be one of us. Preferably it would’ve been you, but you’re in here.”

A portal opened. Alpha Eric said, “Thank god. Harper and Titus are here.” Bjourn said, “I texted them it was an emergency.” Harper was talking to Haley in Latin, and she was screaming her answers. King Titus had his daughter held tightly in his arms whispering to her as her brother tried to help calm her down.

Haley screamed at Sophia to get up and fight her. Sophia looked bad but she shakily stood. Heath was crying. I managed to ask, “Are you alright?” He admitted, “I don’t know. That’s my string, but with what Aiden said if Haley’s this upset Lexi is broken… and that hurts more.” I cried with him.

Eventually he said, “We will help Lexi understand. Bjourn, did your men find Lexi? I need to talk to her.” Bjourn replied, “We are checking all the places Haley goes, but we haven’t found her yet.” He looked at Aiden. Then added, “The smartest place to take her would’ve been Faerie. We were only invited for New Years. No fairy would want us there besides Haley. We can’t get in.”

Aiden laughed, “Sometimes you all don’t get her. It’s very fairy of her how she thinks in some situations. Lexi is not in Faerie. Haley will not go there willingly without her wolf or someone he trusts implicitly. She promised him that.” I said, “I know she’s not in this realm.” King Aiden nodded, “Very good wolfie.”

Everyone turned their attention back outside while my entire world crumbled. Part of me hoped Haley killed Sophia for hurting Lexi this way, but I’d had a hand in that too. The larger part of me didn’t want the girl I grew up with to die. Nor did I want Heath to suffer that type of loss again. Damn it. I like Heath now.

Prince Harper and King Titus had managed to get Haley to stop screaming. They were talking to her while the man with them dragged Sophia out of her sight and handed her over to Lead Warrior Liam who looked like he wanted to finish the job. Haley was screaming and crying in Latin. Harper petted her hair while Titus rubbed her arms. Haley sank to her knees crying. I heard her scream, “It hurts. I can’t… Everything hurts.” Alpha Eric growled.

King Aiden got on his phone, and someone popped seconds later to Sophia. They snapped her clean of blood and healed her cuts like Oscar had done for Jenna. Matt linked, “I know you didn’t register it, but Haley called Sophia every name in the book. I also now know what a cunt punt is.”

I asked, “What?” Matt replied, “I’m so glad you asked. It’s when you punt someone, like a football in their private parts. That's how Sophia hit the tree. Also you missed Kincade sliding my sister a note asking if Carry was safe and not outside. They are already adorable as a couple. Molly is so excited and linking me about how cute it is. Carry asking him too. You might wonder how I know but Bexley is with Carry and Carry asking Bexley to find out.” All that was good for Kincade.

The fairy doctor reset both of Sophia’s arms, who screamed in pain. The fairy popped her knee back in place and popped her to King Aiden. She said, “I did what I could. Given the angry stream of Latin the Princess was screaming, I doubt she will be so inclined to heal this wolf the rest of the way. I’m not as good as her.” King Aiden laughed, “Since she’s the one who caused the damage; no, I don’t think she will heal this wolf. Don’t worry about not being as good as my sister, Smithia. No one is.” All three triplets popped in.

The little girl’s hands glowed. Alpha Eric started to say, “Cassie, no!” She hit Sophia with a sunlight bolt to the arm. Sophia hissed and fell to the ground. Both boys did that pushing thing to her. Alpha Eirc growled, “Pups....” She grabbed her head and screamed.

Heath seemed unable to stop himself and he went forward and cradled her head in his lap. All three triplets popped away to Haley. She calmed down instantly outwardly. Probably for her pups. Alpha Eric watched her every move.
