I told everyone, “We ate before we came. Derrick’s mate is quite the chef.” Haley agreed, “She is. Her food is fucking awesome.” Cassandra gritted her teeth. I linked Matt, “What just happened?” Matt answered, “I’m grabbing some of Fang’s popcorn is what’s happening.”

I startled and looked at Beta Dylan, “His eyes aren’t black, Matt. That’s still Beta Dylan, not Fang.” Matt threw a bag at me and I read it. Haley really had named the popcorn company Fang’s popcorn. Now that I had the bag in my hands, I remembered that Alpha Eric had said that at Alpha Lucas’ mating ceremony.

Haley cleared her throat, “Ok, we’ve established Sally is amazing and Gamma Derrick is FAR more worthy of her than the fucking Troll. Let’s get down to business.” We all took our seats. Haley asked, “Where are Alpha Chase’s signed annulment papers Sophia?” Sophia cringed, “I... I haven’t signed them.”

Haley’s eyes swirled through a range of colors. I linked Matt, “I feel like I’m asking this a lot but what was that?” He answered, “I don’t know, but according to my Beta Chat it’s not good. King Aiden is worried.” I replied, “I already knew that. Alpha Eric said that when he called.” Matt shrugged, “Then you know what I know.”

Haley asked, “Why haven’t you signed the papers?” Sophia answered, “I can’t. I need more time.” Haley’s tone was impatient and irritated, “I’m out of time to give you, and I’m also done being nice.” I noticed several men smirking at each other.

Matt linked me, “Those are Hackura Princes. HACKURA PRINCES ARE HERE!” I replied, “I know. I kind of met them before Alpha Lucas’ mating ceremony.” Matt asked, “Seriously?” I answered, “Yup.” He replied, “These are things we tell our Beta.” I smirked, “Next time.” He rolled his eyes.

Sophia snarked, “Luckily, your time isn’t the one that matters Princess Luna. In fact, this whole thing has nothing to do with you. You’re just making problems where there aren’t any.” I linked Sophia, “What are you doing?” She glared at me. I tried again, “You know it’s not protocol to talk to the Luna of the territory like that unless you want Alpha Eric to kill you. Besides, you made this problem, not her.” She looked away from me. Ok then. Alpha Eric growled at her.

Haley asked, “Is anyone shocked she’s wrong? I mean seriously? WHAT are you right about Sophia? Name one thing. I didn’t cause this problem. You did by constantly breaking promises. I have a whole folder of all the promises you’ve broken since you took over.”

She gritted her teeth continuing, “I give you that you have shit heads in your pack, and you did a VERY noble thing taking care of your father when he got sick. I acknowledge it was shitty that he died the day before your eighteenth birthday. I also know there are things I don’t know about this situation, but I do know you’ve manipulated all your allies and refused their help over five hundred times in the course of being an Alpha.”

My jaw dropped. The Beta’s in the room were suppressing a smile. Bolt huffed in my head. Sophia flushed. Haley pointed, “Who is that guy with you?” Sophia looked next to her but didn’t say anything. Cassandra answered when Sophia didn’t, “That’s former Beta Alfred Sr.” Haley asked, “Where’s the current Beta Alfred I’m assuming has the title of junior?” Sophia still didn’t say anything.

I linked her, “Are you ok? What are you doing?” She didn’t answer me. Matt linked, “This is awkward.” I asked, “Did you know she refused help over five hundred times?” Matt replied, “I know Haley asked me for the number of times we tried to help, and she refused. I assumed she was asking everyone else in the area. I didn’t have the number, and I didn’t know it was that high.” Ok.

After several minutes the silence was beyond uncomfortable. Haley waved her arms, “Hello? Exfuckingcuse me! I’m talking to you.” Sophia gritted her teeth, “He’s busy.” Haley snorted, “Seriously? Everyone else’s Beta is here. We have Dylan, Matt, Ben…” Dylan coughed, “Beta Matt and Beta McAlister.” Haley frowned, “I thought his name was Ben.”

Cassandra sighed and sounded annoyed, “As I’ve told you Beta’s, Alpha’s, and Gamma’s go by their title and their first or last name.” Haley nodded, “Yes, I know that.” Beta McAlister interjected, “I told her to call me Ben. We had ourselves a chat when she was in our territory with that Alpha Raven business. My wife said she’d skin my hide if I made the Princess stand on formalities when she told us to call her Haley.” Cassandra turned red.

Matt linked, “My mother will never shut up about this. She just got served by a former Beta.” I replied, “I don’t understand the attitude everyone is throwing at Haley right now. From Cassandra to Sophia. Her eyes are changing color. I don’t think now is the moment to push her.” Matt agreed, “It’s definitely not. Team Haley kicks Sophia’s ass. She needs it and none of you Alpha’s have been willing to do it. Maybe it would be better if she did.” I blew out a breath.

Haley said, “So his name is Ben... moving on.” Dylan tisked, “Beta McAlister, you wound me with this first name business. At least tell her to call you McAlister. You made a choice, and you must stick with it.” We all chuckled. Beta McAlister smirked at Dylan.

Haley frowned, “Anyway your Beta is busy with what exactly?” Alpha Eric raised an eyebrow at Sophia along with his brothers. Sophia opened her mouth, but no words came out. Then her entire body stiffened. She growled and ran to the door. She opened it and tried to run out but seemed to hit an invisible wall.

Haley explained, “No wolf can leave the room until I uncharm it.” Cassandra scoffed, “Honestly!” Haley whirled, “Yes, honestly. NO ONE is leaving until this is done. I did tell you not to join us if you wanted to go about your day. YOU didn’t listen. There’s a bathroom in here and I can conjure food. WHAT ELSE DO YOU FUCKING NEED!”

Before Cassandra could answer Sophia’s wolf had taken over and was banging against the invisible wall. She whirled, “LET ME OUT YOU INSIPID FAIRY!” I winced. Matt linked me, “Bad move…” Alpha Eric had her by the throat before Matt could finish the sentence, commanding, “Don’t speak to my wife that way.”

Sophia wrapped her legs around Alpha Eric trying to get leverage to get out of his hold. I yelled, “Don’t!” Then she ground up on him to attain any kind of leverage. This was a serious infraction outside the gym and in front of his Luna. Bolt linked, “Her eyes are swirling more colors.” I linked my dad, “What do we do?” He answered, “Duck and cover because we can’t leave the room.” Helpful.

Sophia was thrown violently out of Eric’s hands. I turned to see Haley visibly radiating in anger. Her eyes were blazing, not just Hackura gold, but with several colors. She screamed, “YOU TREACHEROUS BITCH!” Alpha Eric put his hands up, “Angel, she was using a fighting move.” Bolt snorted, “If she’s been learning about packs she will know that Sophia shouldn’t have done that.” I had a feeling she was learning.

Haley popped next to Sophia. She yelled, “TOUCH HIM AGAIN AND I’LL FUCKING END YOU! FOR GOD’S SAKE WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU! YOU WRAP YOURSELF AROUND ANOTHER WOMAN’S MATE AND YOU KEEP OTHERS IN A MARRIAGE THEY DON’T WANT TO BE IN! FUCK YOU! YOU FUCKING BITCH!” Haley threw Sophia into the window. Her eyes continued to swirl.

King Aiden popped in right next to Sophia’s crumbled form. He bit his lip stating the obvious, “It seems I missed the start of the show.” Haley spoke to him in Fealish. Alpha Eric’s eyes widened. He spoke gently, “Angel….” Aiden laughed and spoke in Fealish. We all watched as Sophia turned green and grew horns on her head.

Haley hissed, “Wrap your fucking legs around my husband EVER again and I’ll kill you. ANY of my sisters in law would’ve. Does everyone forget that I have two sides? I’m literally stopping my Hackura side from killing you. I know what you did is against pack bylaws. You’re not in the goddamn gym.” Cassandra seemed to be about to faint.

Sophia touched her head and shrieked, “DO I HAVE HORNS?” I winced, “You do.” Eric reasoned, “Angel, it really was just a fight move. I do understand we aren’t in the gym, but…” Haley interrupted, “So if ANOTHER MAN wrapped his fucking legs around me you’d be fine with it?! Good to know.”

She turned to Kevin, “You’re a warrior, let’s go.” Kevin looked at me with terror. Eric growled, “NO!” Haley nodded, “Sure, that’s fair. He’s a wolf and you were with a she wolf. Sadly, I’m the only partial fairy and Hackura. So, I can’t call someone who is like me one hundred percent but fine.” It did not sound fine.

Haley turned to her brother, “Aiden, call Exsis for a friendly spar. Let’s test this theory!” Aiden laughed again. Alpha Eric growled, “Don’t you dare, Aiden. Haley, your eyes…” Aiden raised his hands interrupting, “Point of reference, I did nothing. I simply popped in here, and I was asked to come early. I’m so nice to you all by changing my schedule for such entertaining and simultaneously concerning reasons.”

Haley yelled, “That’s what I fucking thought! NO ONE wraps themselves around you EXCEPT ME! I know my eyes are golden. I can FEEL them.” Aiden studied her. Eric explained, “It’s actually not the gold part….” Sophia yelled, “I smell my damn mate! I was just trying to get Alpha Eric to let me go.”

Matt linked, “Uhh, let’s not tell her mate she’s refusing to give you an annulment. We can’t have two fights going on in this room.” I shot him a look. Haley asked her, “Do I look like I give a shit?! Was I supposed to let your mate walk in on you dry humping mine?! That would’ve been good for you, right? Sure.”

Sophia winced. King Aiden laughed, “Fairies are possessive.” Sophia screeched, “NOT OF PEOPLE!” King Aiden disagreed, “That’s not entirely true, and my sister is not like most fairies. She’s quite unique. About her eyes…” Sophia interrupted again pleading, “My mate is getting closer. Please, I don’t want to meet him like this.”

Haley conceded, “I can understand that. Sign the annulment papers and I’ll have Aiden change you back.” Sophia cringed, “I can’t and that’s blackmail. Please just fix this.” Haley scoffed, “You mean like you’ve blackmailed multiple Alpha’s over the years? Yes, you should be used to the concept you’re just on the other end of it. I have to admit you are smart and cunning. If you weren’t standing in the way of someone I consider a sister’s happiness and being a serious bitch to Alpha Chase and all your allies, we could be friends. I would like to be your friend and biggest champion. I really fucking would. Just…”
