I’d tell her everything when I got home. I’d tell her what had happened back then all the way to today. I wouldn’t be married anymore so she would understand. I kissed her lightly. We talked for a second, and I was about to leave when she commented on Beta Dylan.
Bolt chuckled, “We know he’s perceptive. So is Fang.” I was aware of that. He may be a big kid, but he was very smart. My heart stopped when she said he’d put together she was BA. They all would, but that didn’t mean I wouldn’t tell Beta Dylan to keep his yap shut.
I walked downstairs and found my dad sitting at the table. His mouth was full of food Sally had laid out. He swallowed and said, “I know you weren’t trying to go to this meeting without me. I called Cameron but he can’t come because Reagan is still in heat.” I laughed, “Dad, you eat breakfast at the SAME time every day. I knew you’d be down here, and I’d planned to tell you when I saw you. I knew Cameron wouldn’t make it. I can’t believe you called him.”
My dad shrugged, “Reagan was sleeping. So, how does Lexi kicking Cassandra’s ass lead to this meeting happening early?” Matt walked in. I explained, “I think it’s because Lexi told Haley we’ve met, and she’s marked. Good Matt’s here. Now I want to know what led to Lexi getting in a fight with Cassandra. Someone give me more details.”
Matt teased, “Didn’t you ask Lexi about it?” I retorted, “I did other things with Lexi. It was New Year’s Eve.” Matt explained, “Your mate punched her square in the face. After giving her the verbal lashing quite possibly of the century.”
Isabella walked in humming with Isaac behind her. She had a giant cake in her hands. I questioned, “Isaac, are you coming to the meeting?” Isaac responded, “Apparently.” Isabella chuckled, “Yes, he is. That group text was not enough for me. Molly said things got heated when they went home too. Alpha Eric KICKED his parents out of their main house into another house on pack lands. Isaac is going and then he’s coming back with more details.”
Isaac nodded, “Yup, apparently that’s happening. I was kicked out of bed this morning with directives.” I laughed. Isabella nudged him, “Annnnd?” Isaac sighed, “And I’m asking the Princess what her favorite flavor of cake is.” Of course, he was.
I asked, “What flavor is that one?” Isabella answered, “Vanilla. Have fun boys. Matthew and Isaac, if I don’t have ALL the details, I’ll never forgive either of you.” I warned her, “I don’t know if Cassandra will be at the meeting.”
Isabella laughed, “Dear sweet, naive man, she will be there. She needs to try to reassert her family dynamic and it won’t work. I tried to get Isaac to wear a hidden camera as a button. He refused to go for it. He knows what the consequences of that are should he come home and not give me a full run down. I WILL have ALL the glorious details. Isaac, give the Princess her cake.” She skipped out.
My dad burst into laughter. He clapped his Beta on the shoulder, “God, that’s some woman you’ve got Isaac.” Isaac smirked, “She jumped out of bed screaming after she spoke with Molly. I even got lucky in this morning. It’s been a minute since that has happened for me. I’m giving her all the damn details she wants when I get home.”
Matt groaned, “DAD! EW!” My dad snorted, “You heard us growing up.” Matt retorted, “And that was bad enough. I’m a grown man let me be. It’s too early for this. I need…” He trailed off as Sally gave him coffee. I smiled at her.
Sally explained, “Derrick said you drink a gallon of coffee in the mornings. I’m sure the Conners will have it taken care of, but here’s a thermos.” Matt looked at her, “Thank you.” He looked at Derrick, “If you mess up things with her, I’ll punch you in the face, and then kidnap her to stay in Ted’s special fairy house.”
Derrick yanked Sally back to him growling, “MINE!” His lips claimed Sally’s. She flushed and pulled away from him after my dad cleared his throat. She said, “I’m yours, Derrick.” She touched her stomach, “We are yours.”
My dad snorted and Derrick yanked her back into a possessive kiss. My dad commented, “We need to have a meeting with our non-wolf members. They don’t know what gets us going.” I chuckled, “I think they do. I actually think it’s the point.” Matt said, “According to Ted, Haley gives lessons on how to rile us up.”
My dad paused for a beat then busted up laughing. He asked, “Are you serious?” I answered, “As a heart attack.” My dad snorted, “The great Alpha Eric Conners is getting toyed with, by a five foot three beautiful Fairy Hackura Princess? Is that what you are saying to me?” I nodded, “Yup-p.”
My dad and Isaac started laughing so hard they had tears pouring down their faces. Isaac gathered himself first, “I saw him crush a man’s throat for being sarcastic towards him once.” My dad waved his hand, “It was an enemy meeting.” Isaac chuckled, “Still. I’m somehow more excited for this meeting. Things are going my way today boys.” I muttered, “Hopefully, they go my way too.” My dad assured me, “They will.” I hoped he was right.
We had to hunt Derrick down then pry him away from Sally. Matt rolled his eyes, “Seriously? You had a quickie, Derrick?” Derrick punched him in the shoulder, “It was your fault.” I agreed, “He has a point, Matt. It was your fault, you pushed him.” Matt grumbled, “I cannot be held accountable for the things I say before I drink my gallon of coffee. You know this.”
We made our way to the Conners house. When we arrived, Mrs. Blanch was there waiting. Her face was tight with tension. I asked, “Are you alright, Mrs. Blanch?” She answered, “Oh, yes. Everyone is in the war room. I’ve got food set up in there for you all. Beta Matt, you have a coffee pot marked especially for you.” He kissed her on the head, “You are a treasure. Is my sister in there?” Mrs. Blanch nodded, “She is.”
Our group walked into the war room. Sophia was already there. She looked like she hadn’t slept in days. Former Beta Alfred Sr was right there with her. I linked Alpha Eric, “You were right.” Alpha Eric replied, “I knew I was going to be right, but it just pisses me off. Plus, my Angel is feeling quite angry. It does not help me.” I glanced at her. He was right about her eyes something weird was happening.
I asked him, “Mate bond?” Eric corrected me, “Mate and Hackura bond. The Hackura bond is MUCH stronger. Alpha Sophia will be lucky if my sons don’t pop in here and melt her brain. Which I will then have to figure out how to stop. She doesn’t deserve a melted brain.”
I asked, “Your sons feel your emotions through their bond with you?” Alpha Eric answered, “Yes, they do. They have Hackura blood.” I nodded because that made sense. I smiled at Alpha Kyle in greeting, “Hello, Alpha Kyle. It seems like we are last to the party.”
Alpha Kyle winked, “You don’t have a fairy, Sharon popped us in.” I asked, “Who?” Alpha Kyle laughed, “My Gamma’s son’s mate is Sharon.” I mentally filed through memos thinking about where I’d heard that name. It came to me, “Right, Luna Emmaline’s sister.” Luna Emmaline interjected, “Please just call me Emmaline, Alpha Chase.” I answered, “Alright. In that case, just Chase is fine.” Weird but alright.
Matt was chugging his morning coffee. Isaac walked over and handed the cake to Haley. She smiled, “Hello, former Beta Isaac what’s this for?” Molly laughed. Isaac said, “Princess, this is from my wife. She wants to know your favorite flavor of cake.” Haley answered, “Strawberry is my favorite. Though I haven’t had one yet that I don’t like.”
Isaac nodded and started talking to Molly before Haley could ask about the cake again. She shrugged and snapped herself a piece. She asked everyone if they wanted some, snapping a piece to everyone who said yes.
Several of Eric’s pack members came in with bags and bags of popcorn. Dylan stood, “Ahhh, I was worried this wouldn’t get here on time. My lovely Luna needs some. She turned to water last night, so everyone just prepare for the emotionally unstable beautiful little Luna.” Emmaline crossed her arms yelling, “HEY!”
Dylan asked, “What? I said you were beautiful.” Emmaline pouted, “You said emotionally unstable too.” Dylan teased, “Your hearing is on the fritz. It’s a water fairy period thing. I have candy and popcorn for you.” Emmaline brightened when he handed her some. Water fairy period indeed.
He locked eyes with Sophia and pointed at Haley, “You’re on your own with her. You can always see if GAP can calm her down by causing your area to go into a pack heat. He’s already cemented his God Alpha Prick status, what’s one more reason to call him a prick?” Eric growled.
Cassandra stood and glared at Sophia before getting some coffee. All of us looked confused. Why was she upset with Sophia? Sophia shrugged at me. I linked Isaac, “Your wife was right, she’s here.” Isaac replied, “That woman is rarely wrong.” Matt walked over and hugged Molly joining her and Isaac.
He greeted, “Good morning, my beautiful sister.” Molly laughed, “I see someone’s had their coffee.” He tapped her nose, “You still know me so well.” I nodded to Alpha Kyle’s two sons Peter and Sebastian. I asked, “Where’s Christopher?” Sebastian grumbled, “With his mate.” I said, “That’s still weird.” Sebastian crossed his arms and muttered, “You’re telling me.”
Cassandra said, “If everyone could eat something, we could get this meeting started.” I raised an eyebrow and I wasn’t alone. It wasn’t proper etiquette for her to start a meeting that wasn’t hers. She was always HELL on etiquette.
