He cleared his throat, “In other news, as you know, we have recently learned of a separation that happened with our people. Dark magic was involved and lies. My dad himself was going to accept them back here. He wanted to rejoin our Shrouds. He wanted his brother, my uncle, to come home with the rest of the family.”

He took my uncle’s hand, “Today, we welcome them with open arms. We reunite what never should’ve been separated. There will be a new way we move forward. My Uncle Jordan, Jasper, and I have had countless talks about how this will work. I know there are those of you here that don’t know me. I can’t expect you to be comfortable with me within a day. My uncle Jordan and I will lead the Shroud together. I will have final say, and when Jasper takes my uncle’s role, I will work with him in the same manner.”

They were going with the Conners style way of this. Or the Hackura way. Basically, Heath was King, but Jasper was a Prince. I was so proud of my brother. Heath said, “We are going to expand the Shroud today and live as we always should have. Together.” He joined hands with Jordan and Jasper. They closed their eyes.

Our family was magical in this one way. We could create Shrouds. They had to have talked over what they wanted it to look like. The Shroud expanded backwards for several miles. Heath, Jordan, and Jasper’s eyes flew open. They all hugged.

Uncle Jordan yelled, “And now we celebrate!” Cheers went up from the crowd. Everyone dispersed. There were tables of food set up. I smiled at Sally who was standing by the tables with Daisy. Sally’s family was with Derrick and Zach a little ways away.

I looked up onstage. Heath was talking to Jasper, and Uncle Jordan. Then I caught my brother’s mate’s stare. Allie was glaring at someone. I turned to see the grandmothers going up on stage. I flashed in front of them, “Not here, not now. Walk away or I will MAKE you walk away. Let them have this moment.” Sandy asked me, “Can we meet your kids?” I answered, “No, any other questions?” Tears filled their eyes. They shook their heads and walked away.

I flashed back over to Chase. He said, “Our kids have been claimed.” I turned to see Anne talking with Ted and Matt. She had Emma and Tony had Emmett. I laughed, “I see that.” Chase tugged my hand and led me to Heath’s house. I asked, “What are we doing here?” Chase whispered in my ear, “I want to see your room.” I laughed, “I don’t know if they converted it. It might not be my room anymore.”

Chase raised an eyebrow, “Have you even met your brother? Or seen the size of this house? Your room is still here.” I laughed and took him upstairs. He was right, my room was in fact just how I’d left it. Chase tackled me onto the bed. I laughed, “What are you doing?” Chase teased, “If you don’t know then I’m not doing it right.” I winked, “I’m confused so you’re definitely not doing it right.”

He growled and slid a hand inside my skirt. His finger pushed my thong to the side. He began circling my clit with his finger. He asked, “Is that better, Sweetheart? Is this clear enough?” I gasped, “The picture is forming, but I think I need a little bit more.” He pushed my skirt up and took my thong off.

I mock gasped, “Now I am confused because that’s a first. A thong that survives. I don’t think I have the right idea anymore. The picture is gone. I have no clue what you want, husband of mine.” He didn’t answer me, he began to lick my clit. I arched my back off the bed when he gripped my hips.

He made me come four times before he flipped me onto all fours. I heard him undo his belt and zipper with ease. He entered me in one quick thrust. I clutched the sheets. He gripped my hips and began to thrust.

I grabbed my underwear when we were done putting it back on. I told him, “I almost forgot to do this. I could’ve left my underwear laying here for my brother to find because normally I can’t put them back on.” Chase kissed me then whispered, “I’ve got to keep you on your toes by throwing you a curveball everyone once in a while, Sweetheart.”

I laughed, “I wasn’t kidding I thought I’d gotten the wrong impression.” Chase kissed my nose saying, “No you didn’t.” I teased, “I kinda did.” We both laughed. We closed the door to my room and went back downstairs. I mumbled, “Well, that was a first for me.”

Chase looked surprised, “You’ve never had sex in your room?” I shook my head, “Nope. Then someone might want to stay the night or something.” Chase laughed, “Well, cross that off your list. Sex in your childhood room.”

He leaned down and whispered in my ear, “I more than want to stay the night though. I’m planning on the rest of our lives.” I teased, “That is what we said at the wedding. Hell, that’s what we planned the second you marked me.”

Chase snorted, “Sweetheart, it was the plan long before you laid eyes on me.” I chuckled, “You mean when you were hiding from me in trees and shit.” Chase laughed, “Yes, and you have no idea how hard that was. I drove Matt, Derrick, my dad, and Cameron crazy. They thought I was losing it. Actually, even the Conners. No, everyone. I was crazed.” I agreed, “I mean you hid in a tree.”

Kevin walked up with Emma. He said, “He did. Kincade was concerned.” I asked, “Kincade knew?” Chase said, “He was there when you ran over to find me.” I gasped and hit Chase’s arm, “He was the noise? I KNEW I wasn’t crazy.”

Kevin told me, “Chase yelled at him for scaring you.” I said, “Aww, he didn’t scare me. I just thought I was going mad.” Chase raised an eyebrow. Kevin said, “Kincade and I couldn’t figure out who you were. Our dad said the mate bond is a force that can’t be ignored, so we ruled out you being his mate. We were beginning to think you would be his chosen mate. That didn’t make much sense because he’s so young. We knew you weren’t an enemy. Kincade thought you had a magic vagina for a while.” I laughed.

Chase chuckled, “I mean…” I swatted him warning, “Don’t you dare say….” I trailed off then said, “Actually yes, I like it. I have a magical vagina.” Chase snorted. Uncle Jordan cleared his throat, “Here’s a thought you guys, before you say things like that look around the area.”

My face burned as I apologized, “Sorry, Uncle Jordan.” He smiled, “I actually believe you this time. This little man wants his momma.” I smiled and took Emmett from him. I said, “I’m really proud of you, Jasper, and Heath.” Uncle Jordan replied, “I’m proud of you too. That speech you gave to my mother, your other grandmother, was something.” I winced, “You heard?” Uncle Jordan chuckled, “Yes, you weren’t that far away, and you weren’t whispering.” I snorted.

We walked back to the big group of people. I heard Aunt Lizzy gasp and turned around. Edgar had just entered the Shroud. They gravitated towards each other. I whispered, “No freaking way.” Noel was about to dance a jig.

Aunt Lizzy and Edgar ran off together. Noel yelled, “YES!” Everyone laughed. We stayed until it was time for the twins to go to bed. I hugged Heath and Allie. We waved to everyone and went home. I went to the Shroud a few times a week.

Ted was on serious baby watch with Joanie. Anytime she moved he was asking if it was time for the baby. She thought it was cute. I’d have swatted him a time or two if I was her. Before I knew it, April was ending.

Haley popped in. I smiled, “You’re just who I was about to call.” Haley asked, “Do you need a dress for this graduation?” I nodded, “I do and you look great.” She smiled and twirled. She was wearing a short, low cut white dress with flowers on the top and sparingly on the bottom. She snapped. I looked down and smiled. I was in a low cut black dress with ruffles at the color and base. I said, “Perfect. I love it.”

Chase walked in the room dressed in slacks and a nice shirt. Haley said, “Good, Chase is here. Eric wants me to come back.” Chase laughed, “I know he texted me.” Haley rolled her eyes. Blade said, “Is trouble.” Haley huffed, “I brought you PLUS I’m with Lexi and Chase. I don’t know what more that fucking man wants from me sometimes.” I laughed again.

Haley grabbed us and popped to Blue Moon territory. We were out on the football field. I saw Emmaline in her gown waiting to walk to the seat in line with the other graduations. She saw me and waved. I smiled and waved back.

Eric grabbed Haley around the waist, “Angel, you didn’t take me with you.” Haley sighed, “You were talking to Lucas. I was being fucking nice.” Alpha Jackson agreed, “She’s right. You were talking to Lucas. We all were.” I sighed when I saw all the brothers and to my chagrin Jessica and Shana.

Jessica came up to me asking, “Can I talk to you?” I said, “You can talk, but I can’t guarantee you’ll like what I say back.” Haley laughed but looked confused. Jessica nodded. We walked off. I said, “We are pretty far away.” Jessica told me, “Werewolf hearing is really good.” I dryly replied, “So I’ve been told.” She sighed, “I owe you an apology.”

I raised an eyebrow, “I don’t want, or need, your apology. Haley does though.” Jessica said, “I’m going to talk to her, but she’s been avoiding me.” I scoffed, “I would too if I were her.” Jessica sighed, “I just wanted everything to go back to normal. I was scared Cassandra would leave again. She is like a mother to me. I lost mine.”

I shot back, “I lost mine too, tragically. It doesn’t give you the right to treat people like shit.” Jessica answered quietly, “I know it doesn’t. I was wrong. Haley has every right to her feelings. I don’t have to be mad because Cassandra is. I should’ve separated that. Haley has done so much for me and Harold. Our family wouldn’t exist without her.”
