Noah gasped for breath and coughed up water. Sally curled into Derrick. Lexi was holding her hand. Lexi locked eyes with me saying, “Chase, we all need to get our answers. Noah can’t live one more day. For our children and for Sally’s.” I looked over at her startled by her declaration.

Emmaline sighed, “Well Lucas, settle in. Haley’s not available from what I can tell. They need me here. Haley needs time to quiet her soul anyway. She needs time with Eric.” Alpha Jackson snorted, “I have no doubt they are being their damn rabbit selves at this moment.” Emmaline turned red but ignored his comment otherwise.

She turned to me, “I can’t make him tell the truth like Haley, but I CAN tell you when he’s lying.” Alpha Lucas growled, “You need to rest.” Aiden rolled his eyes and snapped her a chair. Emmaline smiled at him, “Thank you, cousin.” She sat down.

I walked over toward Lexi. She ran and threw herself into my arms. She whispered into my ear, “I’m so glad you’re ok.” I complimented her, “You look beautiful, Sweetheart.” She replied, “Thank you.” I kissed her for all I was worth.

Noah groaned then yelled, “Get away from her! She’s mine!” Emmaline pelted him with something. I linked Matt, “Was that hail?” Matt answered, “I believe it was.” I mused, “Good thing she wasn’t here when Haley made it rain. If we’d had hail added to that storm we’d have welts all over our damn bodies.”

Aiden chuckled then hugged Emmaline, followed by Oscar. He said, “Celebrate tonight, cousins! It was a big day! You are both welcome to join the celebrations in Faerie. I must go collect Gerdest.” Emmaline told him, “He thinks Doris is amazing.” Aiden laughed, “He has always been fascinated by doctors and women who take charge. Haley’s brother Benjamin is much more his type though. Oscar, your wolf is allowed to join the festivities if you do.” Oscar smiled and kissed Jenna.

Matt linked me, “MY EYES!” I reminded him, “You’ve seen him naked and standing at attention. That kiss was nothing.” Matt growled, “MY EARS! When Susie is old enough, I’ll get you back.” I warned, “I wouldn’t advise that.”

Noah began spouting nonsense, “I’ll kill you and that brat you’re gestating, Sally.” Everyone from my pack growled. Alpha Lucas spat out, “You really were not the brains behind this operation. Shut up, kid.” Noah argued, “I’m not a kid!” Alpha Lucas declared, “Than cease acting like one.”

Before Noah could reply Derrick had him by the neck. His wolf, Rocket, was in charge. He growled, “YOU WON’T HARM MY MATE OR PUP!” I ordered, “Rocket, don’t kill him.” He grabbed the piece of bark sticking out of Noah’s leg and twisted it. Noah screamed in pain. Derrick took back over and dropped him hard enough that I heard a rib crack.

I told Matt, “Get Noah down to the torture room before he talks himself into an earlier grave. Call Robert and let him know we have Noah.” Noah sneered, “I haven’t been tortured enough for you?” I snorted, “For what you’ve done to my mate alone? No. I’d have told Haley to let every bone in your body break without killing you. You tried to kill my son. You want to kill my Gamma’s mate and pup. Nothing I can do is going to be enough for me.”

Noah ignored me asking, “What are you having, Sally?” Sally answered, “We don’t know.” Noah screamed, “Bitch! I found your appointment under Kylie’s alias! You lied to me! I thought you were defective.” Sally said, “I am aware of what you thought of me. You always wanted Lexi, not me. Did you think I wanted a child brought into that?”

Noah argued, “That wasn’t your choice. YOU ARE MINE!” Derrick growled and went after him. Matt dragged Noah away, and I grabbed onto Derrick. I reasoned, “Sally is yours, not his. She was never really his.” Sally stepped up to us and I let Derrick go. Sally put her hands on his chest reassuring him, “Chase is right, Derrick. I was never his, and he was definitely never mine.”

Lexi looked away; tears filled her eyes. I walked over to her and tilted her chin up saying, “That’s not your fault.” Heath had disappeared. Matt linked me, “You might want to get down here. Heath is angry.” I said, “Let’s go get our answers.” Sally cautioned us, “He won’t know everything. He will only know what he cares about.” Lexi nodded her head, “I agree.” I said, “Well, maybe we can get some details. Whatever we get. Let’s go.”

Emmaline grabbed Lexi and Sally’s hands. Alpha Lucas grabbed her shoulder and we all popped down to the dungeons. Noah screamed as Heath cut into his what little flesh remained on Noah after Haley’s tornado. Matt commented, “So, we’ve gone into protective brother mode with a layer of childhood best friend betrayal.” I shrugged.

Allie touched Heath's back. I hadn't even realized she’d come with us. She consoled him, “It’s ok, Heath.” Heath yelled, “I won’t ask again Noah. ANSWER ME!” Noah answered, “I don’t know who the fuck Dani is! I don’t know what ring you’re talking about! For your last two questions, I did know he killed your bitch mother! As for Lexi, SHE’S MINE!” He didn’t know who his own leaders string was? How self-absorbed was this man?

Heath stabbed him in the arm and twisted. Noah screamed. Lexi emphatically stated, “I am NOT yours! Where did that even come from? You’ve known since you were eighteen it was Sally not me.” Noah snarked, “You said you were mine.” Lexi pointed out, “Because you lied to me.”

Ted took her hand. Yet another person I hadn’t realized had come with us. Lexi said, “You knew I wanted to wait for my string. You knew I wouldn’t sleep with you the next day. You’d always planned to try to have both Sally and I, but you KNEW I was never yours.”

Noah banged his head on the table screaming, “YOU ARE MINE!” I growled. Lexi asked, “WHY? Why am I yours? I may have said it once, but that was based on your lie. That doesn’t count.” Noah explained, “I’ve wanted you my entire life. You were always supposed to be mine. Once I met my uncle I knew why. He was supposed to have Allison. You were the War Goddess righting her mistake. You’ve always been so beautiful. You always have been.”

He glared at me, “He had NO RIGHT to take you! Those should be my children!” I growled. Lexi said, “Noah, I was never yours. I don’t even hate to break it to you, but the sex was BAD. Worst I’ve EVER had bad.”

I growled, “He’s not your damn uncle either.” Noah said, “My mother herself told me he is her brother. I saw the secret albums. As far as Lexi’s comments it was life changing.” Lexi muttered, “Life changingly bad.” Heath snorted, “Changing that subject because ew. Hanson’s your father, Noah.” Noah grimaced, “That’s sick, Heath.”

I argued, “Hanson is sick. Your mother told me herself that he’s your father. He’s victimized her his entire life. He killed your grandparents because they found out and tried to keep him away from her. Oh, and Noel is Hanson and Lizzy’s son. He’s your half-brother. You also stabbed your cousin, Susanna. Her father is the daughter of Hanson and your mother’s little brother.”

Noah’s eyes widened. He muttered, “That’s why mom wanted Susanna? She threw a fit we didn’t get her when her parents didn’t come back. I didn’t understand why. Susanna is fine though.” I retorted, “She hates you.” I felt the wind on my face.

Robert appeared standing to the side of Noah with fangs down. Noah asked, “Who are you?” Robert hissed, “You stabbed my Susanna.” Noah questioned, “Your Susanna? Since when is Susanna with a vampire?” Heath answered, “For quite some time now. He’s her string.” Noah snorted, “No wonder she got such good intel. I thought she gave good head.” That was not the right thing to say.

Robert ripped him off the table and stabbed him in the spine. I linked Matt, “Did he just paralyze him?” Matt answered, “Yes.” Noah screamed in pain. I complained, “I’m over his screaming. It’s getting old.” Noah spat out, “I’m terribly sorry my pain inconveniences you.”

I snarled, “Not forgiven. Are you helping Eddie?” Noah laughed, “You so wrong it’s sad.” I looked at Emmaline. She said, “He believes that.” I questioned, “You weren’t helping him?” Noah said, “I don’t give a shit about Alpha Sophia, her father, or her piece of land. I helped him distract you. He was useful for a time, but I don’t care about his agenda. Nor do I know what his is other than he’s obsessed with claiming his birthright.”

I led him to my next answer, “His agenda is to take his half-sister’s area?” Noah rolled his eyes asking, “Who gives a shit? Oh, I guess you do since she’s your wife.” His eyes cut to Lexi’s. He smirked, “That’s right, Lexi. Your precious string is married. You’re the other woman. He’s having an affair with you.” Lexi replied, “No, he’s not.”

Noah smiled, “But he is, and Heath knows about it too.” Lexi calmly told him, “Chase got an annulment, and we are engaged.” She waved her hand around, her ring on clear display. Noah’s face soured while he lamented, “Eddie couldn't even do that right!” I said, “His mother deviated from whatever plan you had. She called Lexi and told her I was married. You missed that tidbit. Haley Conners went all full upset Fairy Hackura Princess about it.”

Noah said, “I shouldn’t have ever let you be friends with her, Lexi.” Lexi yelled, “LET ME BE FRIENDS WITH HER? You never wanted me to be friends with her. We fought about it all the damn time.” Noah argued, “I could’ve gotten Heath to keep you away from her.”

Heath snorted, “No you couldn’t. She wasn't a bad influence, and it made the Hackura happy. It also made Lexi happy. There was no downside. I wouldn’t have upset my sister or the future King of the Hackura by keeping them apart.”

Noah grumbled, “You’d have eventually seen things my way.” Heath disagreed, “Not about Lexi’s friends.” Noah yelled, “If only that bitch would’ve fucking died with the vampires. You just HAD to send Allie instead of the girl I had ready to go.”
