Heath stiffened, “What was your girl going to do?” Noah answered, “Make sure she died.” Lexi stepped forward and punched Noah in the face, not once by twice. Lexi questioned, “Who?” Heath assured her, “I already know.” Lexi said, “I don’t care who it was. They would’ve failed.” Allie agreed, “They would’ve. She took out a lot of guards to see her mate outside. She would’ve taken whoever it was. She was her bad ass self there.”

Lexi nodded to Sally. Sally stepped forward asking, “Why did you even come to the string ceremony? Why did you do that to me? Why didn’t you wait and reject me quietly? Why did you put me through this? Did you think I didn’t know you’d tricked Lexi the night before? Susanna heard you, Noah. I’ve always known you didn’t want me. YOU RAPED ME!”

Noah snorted, “You were mine and you still are. It’s not rape. I don’t know where you got the strength to reject me. To go against me, but it’s not my Sally. You went so far as to be with another man. I’ll have to punish you.” Sally scoffed, “Noah, you are done. There’s no escape here.” Noah said, “My uncle will save me.”

Heath coughed, “Father.” Noah said, “I don’t believe you.” Sally disagreed, “Yes you do. It makes sense to you, I can see that.” Emmaline chimed in, “Sally’s right.” Noah ordered, “Stop doing whatever you’re doing, fairy!”

Alpha Lucas punched him. He growled, “Don’t ever speak to her that way.” I said, “Your uncle/father whatever you want to call him was gone before Haley even had you. He hasn’t come back. He KNOWS we have you. He’s cut his losses.” Noah argued, “He loves me.”

Sally calmly said, “He’s a narcissistic sociopath like you, Noah. He can’t feel love.” Noah sneered, “Just because I didn’t love you doesn’t mean I don’t feel love. I love Lexi.” Lexi argued, “You don’t love me, and you never have. You want to control me, that’s not love. You tried to hold me back and make me someone I’m not. That’s not love.” Noah taunted, “I’ll always be in your head.”

Lexi snorted, “You left my head long ago. My only request about you has been that you die before my children are born. Did you put a hit out on my son?” Noah answered, “Yes, you’ll never see it coming.” Emmaline told us, “He’s lying.” Noah shouted, “SHUT UP, BITCH!”

Alpha Lucas shot forward and broke Noah’s other wrist. I ran forward and grabbed his one leg that wasn’t broken and snapped it like a twig. Alpha Lucas growled, “I told you not to speak to her like that.” Emmaline assured him, “It’s fine, Lucas. It doesn’t bother me.” An icicle appeared and pierced Noah in the shoulder.

Alpha Lucas teased, “Evidently it does.” Emmaline turned white. She said, “I didn’t…. that…. wasn’t me.” Alpha Lucas smiled and walked back over and touched her stomach. He praised, “Very good little ones. You’ll help me protect mommy.” I asked, “The pups did that?” Emmaline nodded.

Matt muttered, “Our lives are so weird right now. If I didn’t know better, I’d say we were on drugs.” I agreed, “Our lives are definitely interesting now. That’s for sure.” Noah warned, “I’ll get out, and you’ll all pay for this.” I disagreed, “You’re not leaving. You can’t even walk.”

Noah looked at Sally, “You know me. I always get what I want, always. There is no exception. You’ll never be happy, Sally. You’ll always have to look over your shoulder. I’ll take out that hit on Lexi’s son. I’d planned to kill him myself but plans change. You though; it won’t be today, next week, or maybe not even next year. I’ll take you, and every child you have eventually.”

He paused adding, “Maybe I’ll go one by one. You always wanted a big family. I’ll take them all from you. By the time I get to you, your wolf and children will be dead. You’ll be begging me to kill you by the time I come for you. I’ll take you one last time before I kill you. I’ll kill Lexi’s wolf too. You’ll see me fuck her before I slit your throat.” Derrick and I growled viciously.

Sally ran forward. I thought she was just going to punch him, but she pulled out a knife. Where the HELL did, she get that? She plunged it into Noah’s chest. My eyes widened in shock. She yelled, “You’ll die on this table! You’ll never harm Derrick OR MY CHILDREN, YOU SICK BASTARD!” She twisted the knife and pulled it out. Bolt told me, “She pierced his heart. Its beat is off. He’ll die in seconds.” Oh well. I didn’t much care about that.

Derrick moved to her and wrapped his arms around her. She was breathing heavily as Noah took his last breath. Unlike Eric there was no one coming to save him. Sally stepped back, “Oh god. What did I do?” Lexi said, “Nothing anyone here wouldn’t have done eventually.” Sally shook her head, “No, we needed more answers, and I killed him.”

Derrick argued, “You protected our pup and me.” I said, “I don’t think he knew much more than he told us anyway.” Sally said, “He could’ve told us where the headquarters are.” I thought about it then realized someone else probably knew where it was.

I turned to my mate, “Lexi, the other day you said Noah was trying to make you feel unsafe. Where would you go to feel safe?” Lexi sighed, “I’ve been thinking about that, but I’m really not sure. I need to think about it more. Obviously.” Sally asked, “You think it’s somewhere Lexi would go?” I said, “Or there’s a clue there.” Lexi admitted, “I just don’t know.” I sighed, “Let’s get out of here. Ted, Matt, your wedding is tomorrow. We need to get some sleep.” Everyone nodded.

I linked Kincade, “Noah’s body is down here. Burn it.” Kincade replied, “Yes, Alpha.” Our group left the dungeons. Emmaline and Alpha Lucas were waiting up top. She smiled, “You guys walked away before I could grab you.” I shrugged, “Walking never hurt anyone.” She apologized, “I’m sorry I couldn't be more helpful.”

Alpha Lucas said, “Baby girl, you were very helpful.” I agreed, “You were. You told us when he was telling the truth or lying and got us answers we needed. That was very helpful and we are grateful.” She shrugged, “It seemed small.” Sally said, “You didn’t know him. He was always so believable. It would’ve taken MUCH longer to determine if he was serious or not. You helped us be able to move on. I wouldn’t be able to sleep until he was dead.” Lexi agreed, “Me either. I kept watching the trees. I was just so petrified one of them would make the perfect perch to kill Emmett.”

I held her and put my hands on her stomach assuring us both, “Emmett is safe now.” Lexi smiled, “Now we just need to make sure Emma is safe. We’re going to have our hands full with them and then Keaton and Keith.” I startled, “Umm who?” Bolt purred, “More pups.”

Lexi smirked, “Then there’s Heath over there with Joe, Jasmine, James, and Jordan. You gave our uncle such shit about the J name thing, and you just go full tilt.” Heath questioned, “What?” Lexi laughed, “Haley did a thing for Bad Ass Girl Gang Day.” Sally asked, “You saw your future kids?” Lexi smiled, “I got to see my parents and introduce them to Chase and Allie. The next group of kids we all have were there too.” I couldn’t stop my grin.

I asked, “Keaton and Keith, huh?” Lexi smiled, “That’s what they said.” I admitted, “I like this tradition. We don’t have to argue about names. Our pups just tell you what they are.” Allie smiled at Heath. She said, “We have more kids.” Heath nuzzled her saying, “I’ll give you as many as you want kitten.” She blushed furiously.

Heath announced, “We’re going to go.” I said, “You should before she’s naked on my lawn.” Heath laughed and Allie turned scarlet. Heath picked her up and ran off with her. I picked up Lexi and ran to our room. I heard Matt say, “It’s the last night before you’re my husband.” Ted giggled, “Guess I’d better make you catch me.” I heard Matt growl and shift, taking off.

I smiled and set Lexi down on our bed. She looked over at the clock then said, “Happy Valentine’s Day, Chase.” I smiled, “Happy Valentine’s Day, Sweetheart.” I opened the nightstand. Lexi sat up asking. “What did you do?” I teased, “This is the start of what I did.” She laughed and hit my chest. She opened the box and gasped. It was a rose gold flower diamond encrusted black flower jewelry set.

She looked up at me in surprise exclaiming, “I love this, Chase. It’s beautiful.” I said, “It looked like you.” She asked, “Can you put it on me?” I put the necklace on and the ring. Lexi shot up and came back with the earrings on. She smiled, “I really do love them.” I reiterated, “They suit you.”

She sat down and started to cry. I questioned, “Hey, what’s this?” She sobbed, “Noah…. he called…. he said…. he was... going to shoot you… and I heard the shot. Everything stopped. Everything. Then Haley went down. I tried to come back through the portals that kept opening but Gunner wouldn’t let me.” I admitted, “I’m glad he didn’t.” She sat back and glared at me.

I put my hands up, “I’ll let you ride me into battle when you’re not pregnant. That’s all that comment is about.” She snorted, “That would be kind of funny. Me on your back shooting arrows.” Bolt purred, “I like this idea, Chase. Let’s do this.”

I rolled my eyes telling her, “Now, you’ve done it. Bolt will make that happen somehow.” Lexi laughed, “Planning another battle, are you?” I acknowledged, “It wasn’t much of a battle. Your little sister is terrifying when Eric almost dies. We can never let that happen again. Apparently, he can never say goodbye to her.”

Lexi clutched her necklace, “He said goodbye?” I nodded, “In her mind, he did. He was dying and he told her loved her.” She smacked me, “You are never allowed to do that to me.” I smiled, “I would never dream of doing such a thing, Sweetheart. Now, let’s welcome in Valentine’s Day.” She laughed and wrapped her legs around me, “Lets.”

Love is in the Air

Lexi was in shock after seeing Haley’s wings. I announced, “I need to sit down.” Ted grabbed a chair and brought it over to me. I said, “She has wings. Honest to god fairy wings.” Ted agreed, “That she does.” I looked at him asking, “Do you have your gun on you?” Ted was taken aback. He answered, “No.”
