Speaking of Emily, she wouldn’t return to school for a couple of weeks. She had a broken nose, extensive back pain, and needed stitches for the hole in her thigh. She was so vain, I wouldn’t put it past her to get plastic surgery for her broken nose.

Ryah has a doctor’s appointment in the morning. The chicks around here would be in rare form while she was away. Fuck.

“What are you looking at, Rocco?”

Ryah caressed my neck, following my line of sight.

She waved at the mean girls.

“Give me a kiss, baby.” My fingers swept along her back.

Her soft orange lips nipped at mine.

“After we handle business, I’ll have you all to myself, princess.”

My finger twisted in one of her coils as I gazed into her green eyes.

“Couldn’t wait to move in on my girl, huh? Asshole.”

This guy couldn’t be that stupid.

I turned to the motherfucker who had the audacity to step to my table.

Drew stood, puffing his chest out. I admired my handy work from last week. He sported blue and red rings around his eyes.

I clenched my fists, ready to lay this fucker out.

The chatter around us came to a halt.

Ryah hopped up. “I’m not your girl anymore,” she roared.

“You wouldn’t let up. Kept pushing me to do things I wasn’t ready to do. A real man would never behave the way you did.”

His fingers slipped through his short brown hair and a cocky smirk crossed his lips. “Your virginity isn’t the fucking holy grail.”

I grabbed Ryah’s hand and tugged her back into her seat.

“Drew, I see you grew some balls,” I chuckled.

“Your petty display of emotions means shit to me. Ryah was always meant to be mine. Not yours.” I looked him up and down as I rose.

“You sneaky cookie cutter bitch. Princess deserves a man who isn’t hard up for pussy.”

He inched closer. I shoved my hands into his chest. Drew flopped on the table behind him. Apples and beans slapped the floor.

“Come on.” I stalked toward him. “Take your best shot, bitch.”

“Knock it off.” Mr. Rastner, the lunchroom monitor, stood between us; arms stretched.

“Drew, go clean yourself up.”

“This ain’t over, gangster.” Drew pointed at me before busting through the exit doors.

The students returned to their meals and banter.

I sat next to Ryah and kissed her cheek. “Eat up, baby. We have a long evening ahead of us.”

She slipped her arms around my waist and nuzzled my neck. “Sounds like we’re in for a night of fun.”
