I pressed the palm of my hand to my forehead and cringed. He was going to find out what happened between me and Sean unless Sean could come up with a believable lie on the spot.
“Why not?”
“It’s... out of order.”
“Are you sure? I thought the other one was. I’ve been using this one for the past few days.”
“Yeah. I need to let Bruce know, but this one is all clogged up. And it stinks. You don’t want to go in there.”
“Oh. Alright. I guess I’ll use the one by the breakroom. Thanks.”
I covered my mouth to keep from laughing and waited for Sean to open the door.
“The coast is clear,” he said, opening the door for me to come out.
Before I could ask what that was about, I looked up to find Rachel heading in our direction with a knowing smirk on her face.
I was still standing in the doorway as Sean attempted to scoot out of the way, but as her grin spread wider, we both knew we’d been caught.
“Hello,” she said, practically singing her words. “What’s going on back here?”
“Nothing,” I lied, feeling the heat burn my skin as my face flushed.
Sean shoved a hand through his hair and looked the other way.
“I was sent to come find Sean,” Rachel said, still grinning as she looked between us. “You have some cute little customers up front asking for you.”
I furrowed my brow and looked at him.
“Carly and Jocelyn,” she added as he seemed equally confused.
“Ahh,” he replied, grinning as he nodded. “Thank you. I’ll head up there now.”
I stepped out of the bathroom and let the door shut behind me as we waited for Sean to be gone.
“Oh. My. God,” Rachel squealed, pulling me to the side so it would look like we were working on something instead of messing around on the clock. “Did you and Sean justahemin the bathroom?”
I chewed my lip as I debated on how to answer her. It wasn’t like she didn’t already know, so it was just a matter of whether I wanted to come clean and have someone to talk to about this or continue to play stupid and lie to her.
“Maybe,” I answered, still fidgeting.
“What do you mean, maybe? I mean, I get that it had to be a quickie, but was he so fast he didn’t even stick it in all the way, or was it so bad that you’re not sure if it counts as sex?”
“Rachel!” I shrieked, covering my mouth as I giggled. “Stop it!”
“What? You’re the one who said maybe. I’m just trying to figure out what it means.”
“It means that, yes, we just hooked up in the bathroom at work.”
Goosebumps covered my skin as I remembered the way his body had felt against mine and how good he had fucked me.
“Okay, now we’re getting somewhere,” she said, pulling out a handful of cheese and cracker sets that we kept selling out of up front. “So, what does this mean? Are you guys back together again?”
I shook my head, grabbing a stack and walking alongside her as we headed back into the store.
“No,” I hissed. “We are definitely not getting back together. It was just a quick hookup between two people who once dated. That’s all.”
“Like a friends-with-benefits situation?”
