“Also, ask for a list of the oldest living wolves that have connections to the Royal Pack.” I instruct, watching him pause before nodding and heading into the hallway for some privacy.

“Why are you asking about the Royal Pack?” Lace questions, and I frown.

“If my hunch is correct, the Soulless Army is larger than we thought, and Lupus’ end goal is the Royal Pack.” I answer, a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. Lace suggests getting food and taking a break, the she-wolf leaving the room to towards the kitchen as Dominic’s phone rings.

“Dominic speaking. Oh, Greg, you guys are here, give me a moment.” He lowers his phone, directing his attention to Mika with a friendly smile.

“Think you can help me? My packmates finallyarrived, and we need to know where to go.”

“Yeah, we have a large guest house. Are you okay with sharing it, Gem?” Mika answers, directing the last part to me.

“Yeah, our packs are close, and I am sure the twins can’t wait to torment Greg and Miles.” I answer. The men soon leave after that, Dominic telling Greg to wait outside as he is on his way, while Amberle and I study the map in silence.

“Spill it.” I finally state, seeing my friend fidget for a moment before letting out a long sigh and motioning me to the computer. She disconnects the computer’s connection to the screen, pulling out a file from the USB drive and motioning for me to go through it.

Shock fills me as I stare at the image of a teenage girl with snow-white curls and prismatic eyes, the opposite of how I look. Her skin is fair, and a small smile plays on her lips as she stands to the side at a ball, with a tiara on her head.

“Who is this?” I asked, before noticing the necklace around her neck on a silver chain, the charm a moonstone so pure my eyes widen.

“Princess Crystalline of the Royal Pack and our future Queen. She is sixteen right now, but there is something about her that I can’t place.” Amberle answers, and I point to the necklace.

“She has the moonstone from the lost Princess.” I state and Amberle nods, bringing up two more pictures. One is modern, of a baby holding the same necklace, while another is of a painting, one I have studied for hours as it is of the Lost Princess.

“They look so similar.” I point out, seeing how the infant in both pictures has the same wispy, white hair and lively eyes, holding the moonstone and blanket wrapped around them inthe same way.

“Gem, I think she is the LostPrincess.”

?Chapter 34 – Calling in Maverick?

Lace returns quickly after Amberle and I discuss Crystalline being the Lost Princess, the true heir to the werewolf throne. Unfortunately, there is no way to know for sure, not without talking to her and having her hold the moonstone around my neck. Of course, we keep this between the two of us, wanting to discuss the topic with Mother and Ira.

After Lace and a few Omegas set the table with food and drinks, including coffee that I quickly down a cup of, much to Amberle’s disgust. Dominic and Mika return followed by Ariven, a frown on his face.

“Ira says she will have to search through the archives. They have been digitizing everything to have backup copies of history, but she did confirm one thing.” He states, taking my coffee from my hand and gulping down the hot liquid.

“What did she confirm?” Lace asks, worry in her voice.

“Lupus is one of the oldest wolves alive. No one knows when he appeared in Canada, but there are many pictures and paintings of him stored away. She will have everything about him sent our way soon in an email.” My mate answers. A wave of unease washes over me, and I think back to the day when Alpha Sorus and Luna Reena were killed. Something in me tells me he killed them.

“Can I ask you two a question?” I ask Mika and Lace, turning to face the siblings.

“Shoot.” Mika answers, his sister nodding in agreement.

“On the day your parents were killed, did you see anyice-blue eyes?” I ask, taking a moment to bring up the paint app on the computer and draw a mock design of what I remember being Lupus’ eye colour.

“I remember blue lights, but my mind was focused on my mom.” Lace answers and I motion for them to look at the computer screen. She gasps the moment she sees the image, slowly backing away from the screen and into her brother who holds her tightly, his own body trembling.

“I’ve seen those eyes. They are from a friend of Bastian’s.” Mika answers and I sigh. Taking my phone out of my pocket, I dial my father’s number, waiting until someone picks up.

“Connor Starlight speaking; Maverick can’t come to the phone right now—” A scream of pain cuts my brother’s words off as I here him wince, causing me to roll my eyes.

“Connor, its me.” I say right away.

“Hey sis, what’s up? How’s training that piece of shit ex’s pack going?” His voice is nonchalant, as if the torture going on behind him isn’t happening.

“Look, we can talk about that later, but I need to talk to dad now, it’s urgent. Also, tell him to stop torturing the Blakes. We need a witch to walk through their memories.” I hear Connor curse, his voice muffled as he shouts something. A few minutes of silence pass, until I hear the one voice I want to hear.

“Hi, sweetheart. Connor says you need to talk to me?” I smile at my father’s voice. I start getting into the details of my theory of the Blakes and Lupus being in cahoots with them taking over Hidden Claws, starting with the death of the Alpha couple fourteen years ago.
