Page 50 of Her Males

She crosses her arms over her chest as she watches Aziel’s dramatic response to her arrival, and I curl my fingers into his forearm as I try to figure out where I recognize her from.

Aziel greets her. “Valentine.”

She cocks her head to the side, her eyebrow raising as she slides her attention to where I’m holding Aziel. I loosen my grip but don’t let go completely.

“What do you want?” Aziel asks.

Gray comes storming inside before she can answer. His shoulder bumps against hers as he places himself in the middle of the room. I expect him to take me from Aziel, but he makes no moves to do so as he crosses his arms over his chest and glares at his sister.

Valentine chuckles and glances down the hallway to where the other offices are. “Where’s the third one?”

Gray scoffs. “Busy.”

Valentine gives an exaggerated pout and turns to me. “That’s unfortunate. Silas has always been my favorite.”

I tighten my grip on Aziel and try not to think about how he’s moving his thumb back and forth against my collarbone. Or the feeling of his warm breath hitting the top of my head.

He’s just trying to calm me down, probably worried I’ll say something snarky and make her mad.

I won’t.

I’ve grown comfortable with Aziel, but I’m not dumb enough to talk to other demons the same way I do him. I’m fully aware of how easy it would be for them to kill me if I did.

“What do you want?” Aziel asks, skipping the pleasantries.

Valentine’s smile grows. “Shay sent me. She said you’d kill her if she showed her face around here again.”

She’s met with complete silence, but she hardly seems bothered by the thick tension between us. If anything, she seems to enjoy it, her posture relaxed as she looks curiously around the room.

I’d kill to have that level of confidence, and I wonder if it’s because she’s a succubus. I’m sure it’s hard to be insecure when you know you can have anybody you want at the snap of your fingers.

Her blank, almost bored expression vanishes as she turns to Gray. She scowls at him, her black eyes glaring holes into his body. I don’t like it, and Aziel seems to feel the same way as he shuffles us forward and grabs the back of Gray’s shirt.

He yanks Gray against me, the two of them sandwiching me in.

It also cuts off my view of Valentine, and I frown as I try to peer over Gray’s shoulder. I don’t like not knowing what’s going on.

“Oh!” Valentine teases. “Is somebody feeling protective?”

I slip my fingers underneath Gray’s shirt and rest them against his lower back. I don’t like being around demon women. They all treat me like a second-class citizen, their poor views on humans not exactly hidden.

They also seem to love making comments about being intimate with my males.

“You hate Shay,” Gray says.

I wiggle to the side and peer around Gray’s arm. Valentine looks amused as she watches my head pop out from behind Gray, her lips curling into a cruel smirk.

“No, I hate my competition. Right now, she and I share the same one,” she admits. “Rumor has it that little Charlie’s got two of you in the bag. Such a shame the only one who matters doesn’t want her.”

She looks me in the eye as she speaks, and I know she’s telling the truth. Despite how much I like to think I have some hold over Aziel, he’s made it clear he’s not interested in ever being with me. Even if he gets aroused by me.

Gray’s quick to defend me. “You don’t know anything about our relationship.”

“You’re right,” she admits. “I only know what Aziel told me during his little visit to Lust earlier this week. We had a lot of fun, didn’t we, baby?”

I release Gray so I can try to pry Aziel off me. Gray seems to feel the same way as he buries an elbow into Aziel’s side.

I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who wasn’t told about his visit with Valentine.
