Kayden yanked his arms from the two holding him and straightened his black-and-yellow bomber jacket while Rose dropped her revolver back into its holster on her side. Then, they both walked up to us.

“Who the fuck has our daughter, Kordell?” Rose sized me up and down.

They knew someone had Rosalie? How? And how the fuck did they know my name? I knew Rosalie hadn’t mentioned me to them yet. She’d told me for months now we should go over and meet her parents soon, but she wasn’t ready quite yet. That was why we always snuck around on her lunch breaks in the back alley. Did she lie to me?

But Rose needed to step the fuck down and show some respect right now because I was really close to slapping her.

“Watch it. Don’t get in my face right now. I don’t know how you found out about me and Rosalie, but you don’t have a clue what’s going on. You have no fucking idea how pissed I am,” I snapped at her.

Who did she think she was? She might be her mom, but I fucking owned Rosalie. She was my girl.

“Babe, take a breath for a minute, so we can figure out what’s going on.” Kayden seemed weirdly levelheaded right now for being the parent Rosalie always went on and on about.

I’d never expected him to be the calm one from everything I knew about the two of them.

Rose took a deep breath and stared me down.

“Start talking. Why is it that our daughter was seen being taken as she was closing the custom shop by a man wearing a Wayward Suns patch on his back? We know it’s not because ithas anything to do with us or her. Rosalie doesn’t get mixed up in things like this. So, what have you dragged her into, Kordell? You have about thirty seconds to explain.” Rose’s eyes were piercing. They were the same color as Rosalie’s, but her expression was that of a killer.

“First off, I don’t know where you got your information on me and who I am to her or who I ride with, but let’s take it down a level. This is my girl we’re talking about, and no one is more upset than me.”

I folded my arms in front of me, standing straighter, but her mom never wavered, never shrank back. This was a woman used to being in the presence of strong-willed men and standing her own among them. I’d respect it if she wasn’t trying to diminish me in front of the clubhouse.

“We’ve known you have been with our daughter for months now. Just because we respected her want for privacy doesn’t mean we didn’t know who was sleeping at her house like he owned it for the past half a year. So, cut the crap. What is going on? What did you do to piss the Suns off enough for them to come after my daughter to get to you?”

Shit, this was no normal housewife. Just who the fuck were Rosalie’s parents?

“The most important thing here is that we need to know our girl is okay, so do you guys know anything?” Kayden spoke up, his face dead serious and his eyes full of concern.

I relaxed slightly as I reached into my pocket.

“We don’t know much. All we got was her license and…” I paused, not knowing if I should mention the hair, but her mom grabbed my arms roughly.

“Andwhat?” She gripped me tighter.

“And a lock of her hair.” I stared straight ahead as her father ran his fingers through his hair, stressed from hearing it.

Rose let go of my arms. “If anything has happened to our daughter, Kordell, I will personally come back here, and there is no amount of manpower that will keep you safe from what I will do to you. Do you understand me?”

Her eyes held mine. I had to look away from their intensity finally.

“Whatever. It’s not like you two even have to worry about it. I’ll handle it,” I gritted out.

The longer we all stood here, the less time I had to take action and try and figure out what I was going to do.

Rose and Kayden looked at each other, and Kayden reached out, but Rose stormed off past his grasp again.

“Rose, wait! Where are you going now?!” he asked as he followed her.

She paused at her car door and looked between him and me. “I’m going to see someone who will actually bring our daughter home safely. Because it’s obvious he doesn’t have a real clue as to what happened.”

With that, she got in and started her car and took off. Kayden swore and quickly followed her.

“Fuck,” I growled.

They were right. I didn’t have a fucking clue. I needed to act fast. There had to be something I was missing. I looked at her ID again, and that’s when I saw it—her address was underlined by a thin red marker.

“I gotta go!” I told Damien and then ran over to my bike.
