“So, you’re the one who’s dating Blake Reynolds, the MMA Champion?”

I stiffen and go to answer, but Kane butts in. “She’s here with me, that’s all that matters.”

Tess looks from Kane to me and smirks. “Right, okay. Well, I guess I should say welcome.”

I smile. “Thanks.”

I’m about to ask her about her tattoos, when the club’s main doors are swung open, and screams erupt around the room from out of nowhere. I’m suddenly pushed to behind Kane, my back hitting the bar as I’m slammed up against it. Bodies run left and right, and I look over Kane’s shoulder, trying to see what’s going on.

All air vanishes from the room, and I begin to panic when I see Blake walk in, holding a gun to Hazel’s head. She has tears running down her face, and his arm is wrapped around her neck tightly, the veins and muscles along its length popping out. He has five men with him from what I can see, including Zeek, his manager. They all have machine guns in their hands, all pointed at us.

The music is switched off then, the sudden silence lending an eerie feel to the room, and Blake’s eyes scan the room, obviously looking for me.

“Charity, where the fuck are you, bitch?”

I begin to tremble, pure fear running through me. Tears spring to my eyes when I see the look of pain on Hazel’s face, as Blake pushes the gun harder into her temple.

Quill steps forward, his arms up in the air. “Listen, brother, put the guns down and we can talk,” he says loudly, his voice tight and controlled.

“Talk! Are you fucking kidding me? I didn’t come here to talk, I came to take that bitch back with me.” He looks behind Quill, finally spotting me around the back of Kane. A wide smirk plays on his lips. “There you are, baby. Now be a good girl and come give your man a kiss. I’ve missed you so much.”

I feel the vibrations of Kane’s anger run through me. I clutch at his cut, scared out of my mind. “She’s not going anywhere with you!” Kane yells out. Blake pulls on Hazel’s hair at that, causing her to scream out in pain. “Don’t you fuckin’ hurt her, you asshole!”

Kane steps away from me, moving toward Blake, but I grab his cut harder to keep him close. “Please, Kane, don’t. He’ll kill you,” I plead.

He looks over his shoulder at me. “Don’t worry, babe, I won’t let anything happen to me.”

I let go, only to hear Blake yell, “You already fucking him, Charity? Because if you are, I’m going to have to kill him now.” He points his gun at Kane.

“No!” I shout back, walking in front of Kane. “Please, Blake, don’t hurt her, it’s me you want. Well, here I am.”

Tears are now flowing freely down my cheeks, and Kane pulls me back and turns me around to face him. “You’re not going anywhere, Char.”

“Please, he’s going to kill her,” I beg.

Kane looks over at Hazel, clearly tormented by the situation we’re in. He pushes me to one side and tells me to stay, then starts toward Blake, a few of the other bikers following, their hands held up.
