Campus security stepped into view, and the coach sat down quickly.
“Not only have you broken the secrecy of the Elite, but there have been complaints of actions not becoming of an Elite member.”
Coach scoffed and slammed his fist down on the table. “Each one of us has our own kinks. We don't judge.”
“We also don't do lasting damage.” Drew glared at him.
All the students were given contracts and asked about their limits. It helped us pick those who paired well with us.
Coach started to say something, but the dean cut him off. “Suspension for the rest of the year to be reevaluated in the summer.”
This just got interesting. I leaned forward, giving the proceeding my full attention.
Drew looked at the eight of us around the table. “Are we all in agreement?”
I nodded, along with the seven other professors.
“And the other matter? Raise your hand if you are in agreement about the terms set.”
A suspension only needed a majority. This, however, had to be unanimous. One by one, each hand rose, including mine. I knew it was just a matter of time before the coach slipped up again.
Drew nodded at the security officer, who stepped closer to the coach.
“Coach, you are hereby stripped of your Elite status from this day forward. Please turn in your ring and key card.”
“This is fucking bullshit.”
The security guard held out his hands, waiting for the items, and I opened up my laptop and quickly disabled both of them. I wasn't going to take a chance on anything happening. Our key cards had access to everything.
Coach Wolfe cooperated but made a show of not liking it. Drew thanked everyone and asked for security to escort the coach off campus. He walked up straight to me. “If you think this is it, Murphy, you are mistaken.”
He lunged at me, but the security officer behind him grabbed him while another came to my side. “We need to talk.”
I nodded and watched as the coach was dragged out of the room.
I turned to Steve, the head of security, who had just walked in. “Did you find anything?”
“Check the lobby and elevator camera of her building.”
A few keystrokes later, I asked. “What am I looking for?”
Security pointed out a student in a hoodie that seemed to know where all the cameras were and did their best to avoid it. He was in and out several times over night but never went anywhere. He also came in right behind Natalie, getting on the elevator at the last minute.
Drew walked up behind me. “Did you find something?”
I switched to the elevator footage in time to see her try to slip past the man just for him to slam her against the wall. I fucking saw red. He drugged her, but not before manhandling her.
Standing, my chair flew backward. “Who is he?”
“We have him in custody,” Steve said. “But he's not talking.”
“Wolfe,” I growled. It had to be him. My heart raced. What had he done to her? Closing my laptop, I turned to Drew. “I can't lose her.”
I could have released her, paid for her, and let her be so no one could touch her, but I didn't. Each and every moment we spent together, I fell a little deeper.
Drew turned to Steve. “Take your team and go check Wolfe’s house. Don't let him leave campus.”
Steve escorted me to my car, and we headed to the coach’s house. If he had hurt her, I was going to kill him. I might kill him anyway.
