Callie

“Good morning, you two,” Katie Jameson said as she waltzed into Sweet Pea’s room. “How’s my favorite patient?”

Sweet Pea grinned. “Ready for my sponge bath.”

I groaned. “I will be handling your sponge baths, jackass.”

“That’s what I meant,” he said, and Katie chuckled. “Did you know that Katie’s brother’s a Dog?”

I frowned. “Like he identifies as a dog?”

Katie laughed. “No, the Dogs of Fire MC.”

“Oh,” I said, feeling the heat creep up my neck.

“Don’t tease her,” Katie admonished, taking Sweet Pea’s vitals. “Besides. You never know these days. Keep Portland weird, right?”

“Don’t worry about Callie. She loves being teased,” he countered.

“The jury’s still out on that,” I grumbled.

“You’ll have to come to a family night,” Katie said. “Both of you. Well, unless, you just want to come, Callie.”

“She’s not goin’ to a club party without me,” Sweet Pea growled, and Katie gave me a wink.

“Don’t tease him,” I said.

“But he likes to be teased,” Katie joked.

My stomach growled and Sweet Pea raised an eyebrow. “Baby, go get food.”

“I don’t want to leave you.”

“I’m going to be here for a bit,” Katie said. “You’ve got time.”

I nodded and headed to the cafeteria, grabbing a few ‘illegal’ things for Pea as well. As I walked back toward Sweet Pea’s room, I saw Katie talking with someone I recognized really well. “Oh my god, Grace?” I asked.
