When he started to go faster, I cried out, not sure I could take much more before my body gave way. But I held back because I had to savor each and every moment. I had to be with him when he finally came.
We stared into each other’s eyes, and I could see so much joy there. This wasn’t only about the fusion of our bodies but the coming together of our hearts and our souls.
“Take me, sweetheart,” he growled. “Take all of me.” He pulled out and drove himself in harder, slamming into me while I urged him on with my cries.
He braced himself over me while lifting my hips with his other hand.
Heat coiled inside me, pure pleasure that was soon going to snap.
“Reylor,” I moaned, needing something only this man could give.
He reached between us, dragging his thumb across my clit, stroking it over and over in a way that blasted flames through me.
“Come for me,” he rasped. “Come.”
“You too.”
“I’m with you. Almost there. Come with me, sweetheart.”
As we stared into each other’s eyes, we let go. He plunged faster, driving me to the peak and beyond.
Then he barked out a cry and joined me in his own pleasure.
Chapter 29
Reylor
Iheld her all night and made love to her again in the morning in a slow, languid way that made us both cry out in bliss.
We made breakfast together and fed each other, laughing all the while. I couldn’t be happier.
Eventually, we had to leave. I had to go into the office to handle things for Katar, and she wanted to work on her building. Now that Victor had been arrested, we’d only move forward.
“I’ll be back by dinner,” I said, standing in the foyer, about to leave for work. I hoped things would be quiet today in the office so I could come home early to my mate.
Home?
I could so easily see myself moving in with Hannah, helping her finish the B&B on the weekends. I’d go to my day job and return to her here each night.
Our vampire and ogre employees had recently started, and Katar had asked me to show them our computer system today and make sure they could access what they needed, set up passwords and emails. The works. “I’ll let you know how things went for Katar and Bailey,” I said. Their baby should’ve been born by now, but these things could take time.
“I miss you already.” Hannah slipped into my arms, giving me a hug. She looked up at me. “What would you like for dinner? I want to impress you with my skills.”
“You pick. I love everything.” Including her. I lifted her and pressed her against the wall, making a painting go askew, and kissed her, wishing I could take her to bed and remain there forever. But I liked my job, and she had things she wanted to get done here. I lifted my head and took in her sultry smile and the heat in her eyes before I lowered her to the floor.
“I’ll make something special, then.” She traced her fingertip down the front of my shirt. “Have a good day at work.”
“You too. If I can leave early, I’ll help you make dinner.”
“Thanks.”
After kissing the tip of her nose, I strode out the front door, secure in where our relationship was going and that she was safe here now. The future looked bright, with no clouds on the horizon.
Inside my truck, I drove to the downtown area and parked in the lot across the street from Monsters, PI, then entered the building.
“Hey,” our new receptionist, Blake said, rising. “Did you hear the news?”
I shook my head and stopped in front of his desk.
