Jacob chuckled and shook his head. "What? Am I overdressed?"

"In my opinion? Definitely."

"Give me a minute. I'll be right back." He ran upstairs and threw on a pair of sweats, sneakers and a t-shirt. He caught a glimpse of his reflection, running his hand through his mop of curls. Maybe Victoria was right, perhaps he did resemble a wooly booger.

"Let me take Charlie out before I go—"

"You know, you could bring Charlie...and stay over at my house."

Jacob couldn't hold back the smile crossing his face. She didn't want the night to end either. "We'll have a sleepover?"

"Complete with ghost stories and hot chocolate."

Her smile would be the end of him. "How about I take Charlie out, ask Hannah to walk him in the morning and then we have our sleepover? Just the adults."

Lilly giggled and nodded. "Deal."

Jacob grabbed his keys, wrapping his arm around Lilly. "Question."

"Answer."

"Do you hate the beard and long hair?"

Lilly's eyes widened in surprise. "No, not at all. Have I been acting like I do?"

"I was just curious." Fuck you, Victoria.

Lilly wrapped her arms around his neck, tangling her fingers in his curls. "I actually have a distinct weakness for men with long hair and beards."

"Lucky for me." Jacob pressed his lips to hers, feeling the tingling building in his body again. Every time he was close to Lilly, he felt less and less in control over his emotions.

"I think lucky for me," Lilly retorted as they walked out the door.

Lilly

Lilly stirred from her sleep, opening her eyes to smile at Jacob—and finding the other side of the bed empty. He was gone.

Did I dream last night?

Lilly shook off the last vestiges of sleep and padded into the bathroom to splash her face, noting a small mark on her neck, a parting gift from Jacob.

"Vampire," she grumbled, smirking at her reflection.

"I can give you a few more if you like."

Lilly whirled to see Jacob in the doorway, an amused grin on his face, clad only in his underwear. Christ, the man looked good enough to eat. "I thought you were gone."

"I made us breakfast."

"You cook too? Any other superpowers I should know about?" Lilly marveled.

"I told you, I have skills...and maybe I can show you another superpower after breakfast." His lips nipped her neck, and Lilly almost swooned in his arms.

"Well, if it's anything like the powers you displayed last night, I'm all in."

They exchanged a chuckle before his lips met hers. The kiss was slow and easy, but it still made Lilly's ever-present butterflies flutter into a frenzy.
