Jacob dropped kisses along her shoulder. “How would you feel about starting our journey of the world someplace other than Paris?”
Lilly shot him a surprised smile. She didn’t realize Paris was something Jacob was seriously considering. “Where were you thinking?”
“I start filming in Santorini in two weeks.”
Lilly’s eyes widened. “Greece?”
He nodded, his fingers tracing along the line of her collarbone. “Have you ever been?”
“No. I’ve heard it’s beautiful—the sea is so blue, and the sun sparkles off the buildings. Lucky man, what a location.” Her heart clenched at the idea of him leaving her for such an extended period, but that was the nature of his job…of his life. And he wasn’t hers to hold onto, as much as she hated that connotation.
“I’ve never been there either, that’s why I thought it would be perfect. We would experience it together.”
Lilly let out a nervous giggle. What exactly was he saying? “I’m pretty busy with work, but I’m sure I could find time to visit at some point.”
His sapphire blues pinned her as his fingers became more presumptuous, stroking the curve of her breasts. “Maybe you could take a leave of absence…” Jacob stammered, running his hand self-consciously through his hair.
“You want me to leave my job?” She didn’t hear him correctly. She couldn’t have.
“I want you, and I want you with me. I’ll be filming during the day, but we could spend our evenings together, and you could visit the set whenever you wanted.”
Lilly drew in a deep breath. This was unexpected—and quick. She waited for her mind to provide a million and one reasons why Greece was a bad idea, but the only sound she heard was her heart, telling her to take the chance.
“I’m sorry. I pushed too hard,” Jacob murmured, running his hand reassuringly down her back. “I didn’t mean to put you on the spot.”
Lilly offered him a dazzling smile. “What’s the weather like in Greece?”
“Beautiful. Why?”
“I’d need to know what to pack—”
Jacob’s mouth was against hers, claiming her before she even finished the sentence, his kisses hot and fervent as if her statement had awakened some deep-seated need within him. He leaned her against the wall, his hands running along the sides of her body, a deep moan of satisfaction rising from his chest.
Lilly pulled back an inch, releasing a giggle. “I guess you approve of my decision.”
Her answer was another kiss, as deep and passionate as the first. “Does that answer your question?”
“More than.”
“I’ll get you all the details. We’re going to love Santorini.”
“How do you know? We’ve never been.”
“How can I not love it? I’ll be with you.” He offered a final peck on the lips, a broad smile splitting his face. "Come on, let's eat."
Jacob led her to the kitchen where the man had put his cooking abilities on full display—eggs, bacon, toast, coffee, and tea all laid out on the counter.
"Wow," Lilly breathed, grabbing a sliced strawberry from the plate. "This is amazing. How long have you been awake?"
Jacob chuckled, preparing a plate for Lilly. "Not too long. I went for a run and then came back and watched you sleep for a while—"
"You did what now?"
"I watched you sleep."
Lilly flushed bright red—she wasn't used to this level of intimacy. "God, was I drooling?"
Now his laugh was full-fledged. "Not too bad." He smiled when she smacked his chest with a playful swat. "You were beautiful. You are beautiful. It's amazing how gorgeous you are when you wake up."
