“I’m pretty sure he had to let off some steam after his win.” I nod toward the parking lot. A couple is heading toward us. “Speak of the devil.”

Trent comes up beside me, smirking as we slap hands. “Good fight tonight.”

I chuckle. “How would you know?” I glance at Sophia, who blushes before looking down. “You were occupied.”

Trent’s smile widens. “Your knuckles tell me enough. I’m sure Zayne recorded it on his phone and will send it to me later.”

Lexi giggles. “He did. I asked him to send it to me, too.”

My brows fly up as I stare at the flirty smile covering her lips.

“What? It was hot watching you in action.” She tugs at her shirt, pulling it away from her skin.

I press a kiss against her lips as we walk, the cool night air feeling good on my overheated skin. “Hot, huh? I’ll show you hot.”

“Oh, shit. Hide your eyes, Sophia. Things are about to get X-rated.” Trent puts his hands over Sophia’s eyes, his eyes twinkling. I punch his shoulder, making him laugh.

“You mean, like you and Sophia in the locker room?”

Sophia’s face is as red as a tomato, but Trent only laughs. “You’re wrong. It was the roof of the warehouse.”

“Well deserved after that fight tonight.”

Trent beams with pride. “I didn’t kill anyone, though.”

Raising my brows, I bark out a laugh. “You wanted to. I could see the bloodlust in your eyes.” My gaze drops to Sophia, who clings to Trent’s other hand. “The only reason you didn’t was because of her.”

Trent glances down at Sophia, who looks up at him with a playful smile curling her lips. Her gaze drops to the ground, embarrassment swirling around her.

His gaze lifts to mine. “I’d do anything for her.”

I lean over and whisper in his ear. “You’re in love with her, just like I am with Lexi.”

Trent’s smile is tinged with sadness. “I am. But damn, we fight a lot.”

My brows raise. “And Lexi and I don’t? If I don’t piss her off in some way daily, I worry something’s wrong.”

Trent barks out a laugh, looking relieved.

“My point is, anything worth having is worth fighting for. If you remove Owen and her dad from the equation, do the two of you fight?”

“No. We get along great if they stay out of our way.”

I nod. “The problem isn’t you and her. It’s her stepfamily and the way they try to control her. She wants to be with you without hiding it, Trent. But she can’t because of them.”

He nods, his face serious. “Will she choose me over them?”

We stop by our vehicle, and Sophia squeezes Trent’s hand before releasing it and hugging Lexi. I watch the two womenfor a moment before turning back to him. “She took your side tonight, didn’t she?”

A grin stretches across his face. The cuts and bruises he sustained in the fight are evident beneath the parking lot lights. “She did.”

I pat his shoulder. “Nothing to worry about. She’ll choose you over her family. Just like Lexi will choose me.”

An hour later,Lexi stands inside my bedroom, naked and blindfolded.

“Such a good fucking girl.”

She can’t hide the shiver or the goosebumps prickling over her skin from my praise.
