“You didn’t answer my fucking question, Shane.” My foot shoots out, connecting with his face like I’m kicking a football. Two of his teeth fly from his mouth as he falls onto his back with a moan.

Zayne’s laugh fills my ears, rubbing his hands together. “Your man is a helluva kicker. Impressed by his moves, Lexi?”

Despite the rage filling me, I cock my head, intently listening to her response.

“Yes, he is. I’m impressed by everything he does, Zayne. The way he used those brass knuckles earlier was sheer poetry.”

Goddamn. She’s getting the royalty treatment later when I devour her from head to toe.

“P-Please. J-Just kill me,” Shane begs.

The desire to see all the blood drain from his body thrums through my veins.

I wanna kill every single fucker who saw her naked and witnessed her being fucked by someone who wasn’t me.

“Kill you, huh?” I kick him in the face, the crack of his bone beneath my sneaker filling the night air. “Nah. You haven’t suffered nearly enough.”

“I-It was w-w-wrong,” he stutters, spitting out more blood.

“Wrong.” My voice is brittle as I cross my arms over my chest, laughing. “Understatement of the fucking century.”

I bend over, grab a fistful of hair, and drag him to his feet as he screams and flails. “You touched my girl, asshole. You put your fucking dick inside her.” I spit in his face before my fist splinters his nose.

I slip the brass knuckles on my right hand. “You’re gonna die a very slow and painful death.”

CHAPTER 58

Evan

Luca, Zayne, and Jaxson hug Lexi, expressing how much they enjoyed meeting her. Moving to me, they shake my bloody hand, pride shining on their faces.

“Job well done, man.” Zayne’s grin tells me exactly how much he enjoyed the show.

“Thanks.”

“Always a pleasure, Evan. Great job.” Jaxson looks over his shoulder at Shane’s remains, and then his eyes move to Lexi, who is standing beside Devyn. He turns back to me with a smile. “She’s a gem. Keep ahold of that one.”

I smirk, my gaze locking with Luca’s before I look back at Jaxson. “She’s never getting away.”

Luca approaches, and we do the handshake we invented, our eyes locking together. “Great job, man.” Approval shines in his dark eyes.

“Thanks. Heard you’ve been busy eliminating some old enemies and reconnecting with a girl.”

Luca nods. “Feels good, man.” He glances over at Shane’s dead body and then at Lexi. “Seems you’re eliminating obstacles, too. And you have the girl.” His eyes meet mine. “I better get an invite to the wedding.”

“You already know you’re invited. Bring your woman as your date… unless you get hitched first. In which case, Lexi and I better be invited.”

He tips his Fedora hat. “I promise.”

I give the guys one last nod. They will remain in the woods to clean up the mess and remove all evidence of what happened there.

I don’t spare Shane another thought as Lexi beams up at me. I wipe my bloody knuckles across her forehead and cheeks. “There. Now you’re covered in my blood.”

She giggles. “I’ll wear it with honor.”

Wrapping my arm around her, we head toward my car. Ryker and Devyn fall in step beside us.

“Where’s Trent and Sophia?” Devyn’s brows are furrowed as she looks at Ryker and me.
