“What?” I gaped at her. “Y-you can feel them now? They’re moving?” My heart thundered in my chest at her words.

She nodded. “Yeah, it started not long ago.”

“Can I feel?” I asked, desperate to feel the life I’d put inside her.

She nodded wordlessly and shifted so she was against her pillow on her back between Dom and me in the center of the bed.

I could tell he wanted to shove me off the bed and touch her himself, but he restrained those actions, allowing me to push her shirt up so I could rest my hand over her small baby bump.

I waited a moment before the tiniest little flutter met my fingertips.

“Was that the baby?” I asked.

“Yeah. They move a lot when I eat.” Her eyelids fluttered with her exhaustion.

My throat tightened as I splayed my hand over her stomach.

“Hey,” I murmured, leaning in to talk to her belly. “It’s me. Your dad.”

“And me,” Dom said, shooting me a glare as he leaned in. “I’m your dad too.”

“We’re your dads,” I continued. “We’re here. We love you so much.”

Bianca’s fingers raked gently through my hair, making me want to purr at her delicate touch. I noted she was doing the same to Dom, who looked just as content as I felt.

I placed a kiss to the spot where the flutters were and let my lips linger.

“Ya ne mogu dozhdat'sya, chtoby uvidet' tebya,” I said softly in my native tongue.

“What did you say?” Dom asked gruffly.

“That I can’t wait to meet them.”

“Anch'io non vedo l'ora di vederti,” Dom murmured to her belly.

“What did you say?”

“That I can’t wait either.”

“It’s strange, isn’t it? That we’re going to be parents.” I kissed her belly again.

“It’s what I’ve always wanted,” he said, his voice low.

“I’d have never thought that of you.”

“Why?” He frowned.

I shrugged. “I don’t know. You always seemed so badass, I guess. Almost like. . .”

“My father,” he finished sadly. “I’m not like him. I’ve never wanted to be like him. I’ve always wanted to have children so I could show them what love is. I just never believed I’d find a woman I could love that way to have kids with. Until Bianca.”

I looked up to see her eyes were closed and she was breathing deeply. She’d fallen asleep on us.

“She’s perfect,” I said softly. “I love her so much, man.”

“I know you do,” he answered, sighing. “You’re just a fuck-up. Hell, we all are in some way or another. I’m still really pissed at you. I meant what I said. You’ll be punished.”

“I know. I meant what I said too. I accept that.”
