CHAPTER 1
Drake
“Did you fucking kill her?”Enzo demanded as I slammed my car into park in his garage.
“No,” I snapped while Cole pulled open the passenger door. “I’m not a fucking novice.”
Enzo didn’t seem to give a shit about anything I had to say because he was already moving to Cole, who had lifted Bianca out of her seat and into his arms. Her head lolled backward, her small body limp.
I swallowed hard, fear ebbing through me. She really did look dead.
“Fuck, how much did you use?” Ethan demanded, rushing into the garage.
“Whatever the fuck you gave me,” I said. We’d been over this a million times. Tranq her with the new formula Ethan made. It was like his zombie sugar but knocked you the fuck out. I’d even let him dart me with it to make sure it wouldn’t kill her. I’d woken up fifteen minutes later feeling stoned as fuck and confused, but I’d woken up. And the pain. This fucking drug hurt. It felt like being shot.
Bianca was still out, and I was getting worried.
I glanced at my watch. It had been over twenty minutes since I’d shot her with it before firing on Tate. I’d had one bullet meant for her. I’d really fucking wanted to wound him for Bianca to kill, but that hadn’t gone to fucking plan either because he’d gotten away.
Should have shot him in the fucking legs.
“Bring her in,” Ethan said over his shoulder as he rushed back to their house. Fox opened the door and held it as Cole darted into the house with her in his arms.
“The kings?” Enzo demanded. “Are they OK?”
“I don’t know,” my voice shook, the very real reality that they may not be slamming into me. “I don’t know. Everything was on fire when I got there. I saw Bianca run out the back, and that was by chance since I came in through the woods. I didn’t even stop to check. She was my goal.”
Enzo nodded tightly as we went into the house.
“What happened?” Rosalie, their girlfriend, demanded, her green eyes filled with panic. “Where the hell is Anson? He’s not answering his phone.”
Enzo scrubbed his hand down his face. “Go check on Bianca. I need to talk to Rosalie.”
I nodded and left, the sound of her soft cries echoing around me as Enzo reached for her. I didn’t know her well at all or their situation, but from what I’d gleaned of it, Anson had become incredibly close to her, and it was a major issue for the horsemen.
Of course, now I really knew why.
It was a fucked-up disaster, and Dom was close to getting the truth that would devastate him.
“Hey, there you are,” Fox called out as I ascended the steps, not having a fucking clue where they’d taken Bianca.
“Is she OK?” I demanded, getting to him on the landing as fast as I could.
“I think so. She’s still out, but she’s breathing and making some noises. E is with her. Do you have anyone? A doc who can come look at her?”
I did. Doctor Farris.
“Yeah, I’ll make a call.”
Fox clapped me on the shoulder. “I’ve gotta talk to Enzo. She’s down the hall, all the way to the end.”
He left and went downstairs, and I quickly walked the long hall to where he indicated and stepped inside to see Ethan placing a damp washcloth on Bianca’s forehead as she whimpered softly.
I said nothing. Instead, I pulled out my phone and made the call to Doctor Farris.
“Hello?”
“I need help,” I said into the phone.
