She said nothing, but it didn’t matter. She didn’t have to. I knew everything already.
She’d miss me as much as I missed her.
I kissed her, tasting the salt from her tears on my lips.
Please let me come home to her.
“I love you more than life itself, Bianca,” I murmured before releasing her. Dom was quick to take her from me, holding her as she continued to cry.
“Don’t fuck up,” I warned Fallon.
“I won’t,” he answered solemnly.
“If one hair on her head is harmed while I’m gone—”
“Then I’ll hand you the gun to end me,” he finished.
I nodded before pushing past him and grabbing my keys. I didn’t have shit to take with me but the love I had for my little family.
Any hesitation would end up with shit just getting worse, so I walked out the door without looking back.
CHAPTER 29
Vincent
“We’re really doing this?”Fallon asked, staring out at campus while standing at B’s side, Dom on her other side.
“We are,” Dom murmured, glancing at him. “Unless you’re scared, Vasiliev.”
Fallon scoffed, and I shifted beside Dom. We’d returned to Bolten late last night. It didn’t feel right without Levin with us, but I suppose that was just how things were going to be while he was gone.
It was hurting me to know he’d left. My stomach had been in knots since he pulled away in his car.
“You can back out now,” Dom continued. “Or you can walk in as a king. Your call.”
Fallon twined his fingers with B’s. “I’m not backing out.”
Dom smiled. “Then it’s showtime.”
B hadn’t said anything this whole time. In fact, she’d been teary-eyed since yesterday, but it was understandable. I was teary-eyed too. It was why I’d stayed the night in the room with Dom and B. Fallon had even stayed and slept at the foot of the bed.
Now, we stood in a place that would shout our sins to the world. A lord in bed with the kings.
While I wanted Fallon with us, loud and proud over it, I couldn’t stop the worry that maybe it was a bad idea to announce it so boldly. Word would get back to his father. We already had enough to deal with.
When I’d mentioned it to Dom last night, he’d looked down at his hands on his lap and sighed, saying, “Then we fight, Vin. And we don’t stop. I’m done living in the shadows.”
“Let’s do this,” I said, making the first step.
We didn’t make it far before Stella bounced into our path, halting our journey.
“You’re back,” she said, her eyes lighting up.
“You’re in the way,” Dom answered.
Her eyes glittered, and she looked over to Fallon, holding B’s hand. “And you’re all together. Where’s Levin?”
“Gone,” I said. “Into the fold.”
