“Es ist Zeit, nach Hause zu kommen,”his deep voice greeted me.

“When?” I asked softly.

“Now.”

I went silent for a moment, my heart in my fucking throat.

“There is no debate, Levin. Midnight. Be here, or I will personally come for the girl and make my point. Do you understand? Do not fucking disappoint me more. I will not be so forgiving this time.”

I ground my teeth together, hating everything about the man who created me.

“No worries, Father. I’ll be there.”

“You are to cut ties immediately. You will take your vow to Matteo upon arrival. I have agreed to your death if you deny the request and will put the bullet into your skull myself.”

Fucking prick.

“You mean you don’t want me to kill Dominic and Vincent before I leave? Bianca?” I asked sourly.

He let out a wicked chuckle.

“Not just yet. Matteo has plans for the whore and the bastard. Vincent will be coming home shortly too. Say your goodbyes. Tonight, your friends become your enemies.” The line went dead. I ground my teeth before letting out a string of curses and punching the side of the house, causing my knuckles to split open and bleed.

Fuck. Fuck. FUCK.

I let my head fall back and inhaled deeply.

When I turned around, it was to find Bianca standing at the French doors, staring at me with tears in her eyes and her bottom lip trembling.

“It’s time,” she whispered.

I nodded mutely. Dom stepped up behind her for all of a moment before he came straight for me and wrapped his armsaround my neck. I hugged him back, rocking with him on the patio. Vincent joined us a moment later, all of us crying softly.

“It’s OK,” Dom whispered. “It’ll be OK. We’re brothers. For now. Forever. This changes nothing.” He gripped my face tightly. “Nothing, Levin. Say it.”

“It changes nothing,” I answered back, my heart fucking breaking.

“Nothing,” Dom choked out. “Ever. Promise it to me. Vow it, Levin.”

“I fucking vow it. I will do what I can on the inside to end this. My loyalty is to you and the kings. To my queen. Always,” I said, my voice fierce. “Forever.”

Dom kissed my forehead, his hands trembling as he held my face. He released me and backed away, wiping at his eyes, before he turned to go back to Bianca, who was clinging to Fallon.

“They’re coming for you next, Vin. Be ready,” I said.

He nodded. “I know.”

I cupped his cheeks with my hands for a moment. “Take care of her.”

“Promise.” Tears streaked down his cheeks. I thumbed them away, my throat tight.

“Let no harm come to her. Keep her and the babies safe. Keep Dom safe. Kill any motherfucker who looks at them weird.”

“Without hesitation,” he whispered.

I rested my forehead against his for a moment before breaking away from him and going to Bianca. She fell into my arms, her body trembling from her crying.

“Shh, baby. No tears. It’s going to be OK. I promise it will be. I swear to you. I’m coming back.”
