I stared up at him.
His foot came up and landed in my ribs again, on repeat, until I was gasping for air on the floor at his feet.
He knelt beside me, tangled his fingers in my hair, and brought my head off the ground.
“W-we trusted you,” I choked out.
“I know,” Drake answered grimly. “I’m good at what I do, Seeley. And I really am sorry for this next part.”
He slammed my head down onto the ground. My vision grew darker, dots of light flashing before silence descended, and I was left with nothing.
CHAPTER 41
Vincent
I droveus all to Bianca’s doctor's appointment. My nerves were shot after Dom said Levin had called. It didn’t feel right. In fact, it felt really fucking wrong. Something big was going to happen. I didn’t know what, but damn, it was weighing heavily on me.
We pulled into the back lot of the doctor’s office, and I looked back at B.
“I love you,” I said fiercely.
“I love you too, Vinny,” she answered, giving me a confused smile. “Are you OK?”
“I’m fine. Just don’t like being away from the house.”
She nodded, understanding in her eyes. “We won’t be long.”
Dom helped her out of the car, Fallon getting out behind them. Tate and Hail had been lying too low. I surveyed the area, wondering if the pricks were watching us right now. Everything we knew was that they’d simply disappeared without a trace.
The minutes crept by.
My phone rang, and I frowned down at my father’s name.
“Hello?”
“Vincenzo,” he greeted me.
“Father.”
I looked over as someone tapped on my window.
My heart jumped into my throat as my father stood there, shrouded in all black.
I rolled my window down and hung up the phone.
“What are you doing here?” I asked, looking around in the hopes that he was alone.
“I came with news, son.”
“What news?”
He raised a gun and pointed it at me. I dropped my phone, my body frozen.
“I’m sorry, Vincenzo, but everything has a purpose, and some things cannot continue to go on.”
He pulled the trigger, and I grasped at my neck when the pain hit me.
“F-father,” I choked out, heat sweeping through my body.
