“Don’t hurt her,” I choked out as he positioned himself between her legs. “Please. Seth. . . don’t.”

“My name is Asylum,” he whispered, his eyes wavering as they locked on mine. “Not Seth.”

And with those words, he pushed into her body, jolting her in my arms.

A tear slid from the corner of her eye as I held her. As Asylum fucked her for all the sick fuckers to witness. He wasn’t rough with her. In fact, I’d never seen him be so gentle before as he pushed in and out of her trembling body.

“Just keep breathing,” I whispered softly against her ear as Asylum jostled her body gently against mine, my own tears flowing. “Just keep breathing, angel.”

Her tears continued to fall as Asylum fucked her.

She was a prisoner inside herself. I hated it. I hated it so much.

“I’m sorry,” I whispered over and over to her as I wept. “I’m so fucking sorry.”

Her body arched as she came, her breathing ragged.

Asylum’s eyes remained fixed on her face. I chanced a look at him to see a tear trail out of his eye too, his bottom lip wobbling.

He didn’t want this either.

His Adam’s apple bobbed as he reached out and cradled her face. He leaned down to hide her body from the sick perverts watching behind the glass. He whispered in her ear as he continued to move in and out of her.

He. . . loved her. Just like I did. Everything in the way he did this showcased how much he gave a damn. I never thought I’d see the day.

I swallowed my pain and focused on the angel in my arms and continued to whisper to her about how beautiful she was. How brave she was. How it would be over soon.

“And when we’re strong enough, angel, we’ll kill them all. I fucking swear it,” I croaked into her ear. “For you, baby. For us.”

“They’ll all suffer for what they’ve done to us in this moment,” Asylum whispered, his forehead brushing against my head. “We’ll revel in their blood. Stay fucking strong,Malachi. Many secrets are set to be revealed. We must have patience. Trust me.”

I remained silent, absorbing his words as he pulled away.

Asylum came with a soft groan a moment later. His chest heaved as I stared up at him. Sirena was still limp in my arms, her tears still flowing.

Asylum reached out and stroked her cheek again before tilting her head so she was staring at him.

“They’re dead, firefly. All of them. They just don’t know it yet,” he murmured. “Sully. Everett. The monsters behind the glass. I’ll kill them all for you.” He leaned in and licked her tears before he pulled free of her body and tucked his dick back into his pants.

He looked at me this time. “Want to help me?” he asked softly.

I nodded without a word.

A tiny, wicked smile curled his lips upward.

“Let’s get out of here. We have business to tend to.”

We sure the hell did.

CHURCH

When I’d hauled Cady back to the house after she’d run off like a little bitch, she’d locked herself in Stitches’s room and had refused to talk to us, which was fine with me. Several hours of not having to deal with her had been a welcome reprieve. Cadence Lawrence was a swamp bitch and a complete pain in my ass.

And she’d emerged from her lair ready to make my life hell once again.

She winked at me as she ate the sandwich she’d swooped in and taken out of my hands before I could even bite into it.

Ashes laughed, which made her grin wider.
