Front Desk Receptionist needed- asap.

Perfect. I clicked, filled out the application, and sent it off.

Not even five minutes later, as I browsed my email, my phone rang.

“Hi, Mila? It’s Lacey. I’m closing early for the snow storm but I was wondering if you were available for an interview this morning? I know it’s short notice but I’m looking to fill this position quickly.”

“Yes! Of course! Give me an hour, is that okay?”

“Sure thing! See you soon!” Lacey hung up and I sprung out of the bed. It was time to get ready, I had a job to score. This dayfelt better already. I’d be back home before the storm got bad and Julian wouldn’t suspect a thing.

Besides, getting a job was high priority. Julian should understand.

A little while later, after getting myself done up, I slid on my boots, jacket, hat, and mittens and headed out to start my car and clean it off.

I brushed the few inches of snow off and just as I was about to finish, a loud engine roared behind me and headlights landed on me. I squinted through the falling snow and saw it was my brother’s truck.

Fuck, what was he doing home?

“Mila! Where do you think you’re going?” Julian called as he hopped out of his loud truck.

“I have an interview at the spa. The storm isn’t bad yet. I’m just going to run there?—”

“No.” Julian cut me off. “Not happening. The roads are awful. I came back for my plow to help out some of the guys around town.”

“Then I’ll follow behind you.”

“Mila, don’t be stubborn. I’d take you myself, but I told them I’d be right back. Lacey will understand.”

“C’mon Julian! I’ve driven in the snow before! You act like I’m still a teenager sometimes. I need a job. I’m not missing my chance.”

Julian stormed over to me but all I did was stand there and roll my eyes. He could be so annoying with this possessive shit. I wasn’t a kid anymore. “Mila! I’m not kidding. These aren’t like city roads. They are slippery, curvy, and dangerous, especially when going down the mountain. Give me a second.”

“What are you doing?”

“Calling Rowan. He’ll take you.”

CHAPTER FOUR

Rowan

Julian didn’t haveto ask me twice. I jumped at the chance to be around Mila and since the job today felt through, I wasn’t doing anything.

When I pulled into the driveway, I honked the horn before throwing my truck into park and jumping out. Mila ran out the door moments later and seeing her dressed up, my mouth nearly fell open.

I didn’t think she could get any more gorgeous but I guess I was wrong. I held open her door and tried not to stare at her ass as she got in.

“Rowan, hi! Thanks for picking me up. Sorry my brother is a pain. I told him I could drive myself but he wouldn’t hear it.”

“It’s no problem at all. I’m glad I could help.” I shut her door and hurried back to my side and behind the wheel. “Let’s get you a job.” I grinned. “You know…my office is next door to the spa.”

“Is it really?” Mila looked over at me and bit her bottom lip.

Fuck, she makes my dick hard already.

“Yep. Just letting you know.”

We drove the rest of the way with Mila talking a mile a minute. I figured it was nervous energy and enjoyed listening to her ramble on.
