I see red. “You didn’t even use a condom? Jesus Christ! I swear to God if you hurt her I will?—”

“Stop it!” Brooke cries, stepping between us. “I’m fine! I’mfine, Wyatt.” She walks right up to me and puts a hand on my chest. “I wanted it. Iaskedfor it. I’m totally okay.”

She waits a moment, letting the words sink in. I study her face. She definitely seems adamant. She doesn’t seem confused or upset, except with the fact Luke and I are fighting.

I lift a hand to her face, cupping her cheek. “I just… this is all new to you. Jesus, Brooke. We… wanted this to be good. Gentle. Sweet.”

She nods. “I know.” Her gaze flickers to Jackson and then back to me. “It has been. Itreallyhas been. I’m so glad it was you who was first. I…” She licks her lips and swallows hard. “There’s just something between Luke and me, too.”

My chest tightens. Fuck.

I thought Brooke was going to be my girlfriend.

I thought we were going to date and she would meet my parents and we’d maybe take a vacation somewhere together this summer.

But no. She was a weekend fling.

The best I’ve ever had, no doubt about it, but clearly she’s just now spreading her wings and I can’t deny her that.

“Okay,” I finally say.

“Brooke.” Luke’s voice is low.

She turns toward him.

“You should go to your room. Clean-up. Whatever. We—” He looks at Jackson and me. “Need to talk.”

I wait for her to resist. To tell him to fuck off about sending her to her room like she’s a little girl, and he’s somehow in charge.

But she steps away from me, crosses to where her panties are still lying on the floor and picks them up.

Then she glances back at all of us one more time before she disappears down the hall.

When her door shuts, Luke crosses his arms and looks at Jackson and me. “Clearly, we have a problem.”

“You think?” I ask.

“Do we though?” Jackson asks at the same time.

Luke and I look at him.

He shrugs. “She seems fine. And that’s what matters,” he says to me. “I wasn’t crazy about walking in on that either.” He gestures toward Luke and the wall where he was just fucking Brooke. “But she wanted it. We don’t get to really have an opinion about that. We both want her. We both knew that Luke wanted her. What they did together isn’t really our business.”

“He said he wasn’t good enough for her,” I say, even though it doesn’t fucking matter now.

“He clearly changed his mind,” Jackson says.

“No,” Luke interjects. “I didn’t.” He sighs. “I’m still too old for her. I’m not the marrying type. I can’t give her kids. Brooke is absolutely the settling down type of girl.”

I bark out a quick laugh. I don’t think Brooke is looking for a relationship right now, even if I wish she was. “The girl who just got with all three of us in three days seems like the settling down type?”

Luke frowns. “Don’t you fucking dare slut shame her.”

I hold up my hands. “No way. That’s not what I’m saying. She deserves to have all the sex she wants to have. I’m saying she’s just getting started, and she clearly loves it and wants to learn more. Good for her. I’m just disappointed I can’t be the one and only she wants.”

Jackson nods. “I’m half disappointed, half turned the fuck on by the fact that she clearly likes all three of us and the different ways we fuck her.”

Luke shoves a hand through his hair. “Well, that wasnotsupposed to happen with us and it won’t happen again.”
