“And I will be there, the guys will be there to protect her. Thank you for trusting me.” Leaning forward, he grabs another beer, and I fill my whiskey up. “Are you not sleeping tonight?” he asks.

“It might be my last night looking at the night sky, I might stay awake for a bit.”

“Want company?” Logan asks, and I smile because we both know there will be no talking what so ever. The thought of spending this quiet time with my brother isn’t lost on me.

“Sure.” I bring my glass to his beer bottle. “Better late than never to have a brother,” I say, clicking it with his beer bottle, and he laughs.

“To brothers,” he says.

We both sit there looking out the window. I will go back to Autumn and lay in bed with her, but for now I just want to take in the silence because I won’t get any when I go back to The Pit.

It’s rime to go back to hell.

I look around the dark black room, the dirty brick wall, which still has the blood on it from when myself and grandad would strengthen our fists.

I sigh as I look into the next room, grandad's room. “Here I am again. grandad, here I am again.” I look up at the ceiling, shaking my head, listening to everything happening around me.

The screaming, the shouting, my numbers being yelled because they want to get out, begging for a fight. It’s never ending. I can even hear some of them asking for water.

This is where I needed to be, because I know with even the plan that myself and Lincoln have made, of them all being behind metal doors, we will still hear them. They might see nothing, but they'll hear everything, and I will definitely hear them.

I’ve not been around this part for so long, it would have affected me in the fight.

That's the reason I've come here to get used to the noise, the smell, the screams, because no one's going to be yelling at Yang. He has no control over The Pit. I do.

Keeping my eyes shut for a moment, I turn around as the gates close behind me, and here it starts. Taking a deep breath. This is my kingdom, my Pit, and no one will take it from me.

Let's get ready for a fight to survive.

Thirty-Five

Autumn-Rose

This weekand a half has been the worst in my whole life, even with Rowan back in England it was never this bad, it’s been nothing but hell. I’ve cried myself to sleep more times than I want to admit. The whole family were at the apartment saying they aren’t leaving even when I told them they could and that I’ll be fine. Maybe it would have been more believable if I wasn’t crying.

I woke up this morning so scared, and the messed up thing is it wasn’t because I was coming here, to The Pit. No it was because I don’t know how the day is going to end. Will it end with Cain walking out, or will it end with my world being broken? My head is full of unanswered questions.

Turning to Logan, who is another person who has been with me most days. He’s even been helping Lincoln in the club. He really stepped up with what he said to Cain. He takes my hand in his. “We’re all here.” I turn to Lincoln who’s looking around, I know who he’s looking for. Yang and Rowan.

Yang came to the club last night and reminded him, he needed to bring me here today. Does he really think Cain was going to do anything to put me in danger by not bringing me?

“Keep her close,” Lincoln tells everyone, and Logan moves closer to me, Hayden on the other side. I look around but don’t see anyone. How the hell does he know someone is coming. I don’t hear anything.

“Yang.” I turn to where Lincoln is looking, and without meaning to I move closer to the Hayden, as Yang stares at me while walking closer to Lincoln.

“Ready to lose your boyfriend?” he asks me, and David tells him to shut up. “You know my friend.” I don’t look at where he is pointing, because I’m praying after tonight I never have to see him again.

Rowan walks over to me, but Declan slaps his fist into his chest, only making him laugh. “You know if we win, I will get you.”

“No, you won’t you fucking asshole,” Lincoln shouts at him, which makes him laugh as he tries to get closer to me, but again met with Declan’s fist to the chest.

I watch Lincoln place his hand on the wall and my body tenses as the scrapping of the gate opens. “He's not in the cage, you know the way. Someone will be following you, so don’t fucking try anything,” Lincoln snaps at him, which makes him laugh.

Lincoln looks at everyone, but stops when his eyes reach me. “No names, and no matter what happens you do not go into the middle. Understand?” Everyone nods, but I keep my eyes locked with him. “If everyone wants to go in and wait by the door,” Lincoln tells everyone but I stay where I am, because I know he let them in because he can see how scared I am.

“Lincoln-”

“Autumn, I don’t know what is going to happen so I can’t say anything. All I can say is, Cain will fight, the man will fight until he has nothing left in him. I’ve watched him fight. I’ve watched him kill people without even breaking a sweat. He won't go downwithout a fight, that I can promise you.” Lincoln stands in front of me and wraps his arms around me, pulling me in for a tight hug. “We’re all here, remember that.”
