I shrug. “Not really gossiping. Just speculating. Huge difference.” I throw my arms out to the sides, indicating how big a difference the two are.
He smiles and shakes his head. “You ready to go home?”
I look at my roommate, suddenly feeling guilty for abandoning her two nights in a row. Even if last night was an accident. Candace rolls her eyes and makes a shooing motion with her hands. “Go.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, girl. Seriously. Besides, if I’m lucky, I won’t be home until late anyway.” She winks at me then turns to survey the doms in the room. Andre follows her line of sight, and if I didn’t know better, I would say he has his distinctively scowly face on. The one he gets when something isn’t going his way.
Very interesting.

Oliver
Despite today beinga complete cluster fuck, I can’t seem to be upset by it. I’m still riding the high from being with Sugar all weekend. She stayed over Friday night. Saturday, we lazed around my apartment until late afternoon. I talked her into staying another night, and we went to the apartment she shares with Candace to pack a bag.
We didn’t get out of bed other than to eat on Sunday. We spent long hours exploring each other’s bodies until we were both exhausted. I thought Sugar might be upset this morning when she realized she’d stayed the night again, but, like me, she seemed to be genuinely pleased with the situation. Which is why not even Jeff Thompson and all of his excuses can get me down today.
Despite Barry putting forth his best efforts, his illustrations still don’t measure up. It’s a shame because he really is a talented artist. Titan-Rose just isn’t where he needs to be. That’s why when Jeff comes storming into my office shortly after lunchtime and flings a piece of paper across my desk at me asking if I’m happy now, I’m not surprised that it’s Barry’s resignation.
“Are you really surprised by this?” I smooth out the crumpled page and put it on the corner of my desk. “Barry was never a good fit for Titan-Rose. Something thatyoushould have realized before even hiring him.”
Jeff sputters but doesn’t seem to come up with any real argument.
I push the intercom button on my phone. “Janis, please inform HR that Barry Goldblume will no longer be with us and to post two positions in the design department.”
“Internal or external?”
I instantly think of Sugar and the brilliant changes she made to Fairyville. She breathed life into a project that I didn’t even realize needed it. She would be perfect for the position. “Do both, Janis. I want to see all the resumes.”
“Very well, sir.”
“What’s the meaning of this, Oliver? Hiring for the design department is my job!” Jeff’s face is bright red, and his body is practically vibrating with anger.
“Was. Hiringwasyour job, Mr. Thompson. Now it’smine.”
He opens his mouth to say something but snaps it closed, thinking better of whatever he was about to say. Jeff turns on his heel and stomps out of my office like a petulant child.
I’m not shocked to see two dozen resumes in my inbox before the end of the day. A quick look at the time says its half-past five. I send Sugar a quick message letting her know I’m going to be working late tonight. Today was a half-day for her at the office since she has class. I hate canceling our date, but I have to find a replacement for Barry quickly. We have too many projects to be short an illustrator.
I could bring you dinner after class.
As much as I would love that, I doubt I would get much work done. You’re distracting.
I’m not a distraction. She adds a pouty emoji, and I can imagine her pouting up at me with those big green eyes of hers. My cock starts to get hard at the thought.
I push away from my desk enough to take a picture of the bulge in my slacks. This says otherwise, babygirl.
I’d apologize, but I’m not sorry. Miss you, daddy.
Miss you too, babygirl. Be good.
Her response comes a few seconds later,I will.

My phone ringsa few hours later, Sugar’s face lights up on the screen. I don’t even try to hold back my pleased smile.
