Page 7 of His Last Chase

“Daddy, Daddy,” Henry ran over to us and tugged on Jensen’s shirt. “Chase is my friend David’s friend,” Henry excitedly explained to us. His reaction warmed me through to the core. I remembered David’s first night when Henry took him under his wing. Henry was quite the key to Chase’s reaction of the lifestyle, though I doubted he realized that. He simply drew a new friend in to play with him and had no clue the impact this would have on Chase.

“Ah, that’s how I know him,” I played along. “Excuse me, gentlemen.” I went to check on Chase as the other boy, Jamie, ran over to the Daddies where Henry was.

“Doing okay over here?” I asked as I knelt beside him.

“Yeah. They’re nice but they have a lot of energy. Incoming.”

Wasn’t sure what he meant until Henry and Jamie tackled him when they hugged him at the same time.

“We’re going home, I seepy,” Jamie yawned. “Nice to meet you, Chase and Daddy Casey.”

“Nice to meet you, too, Jamie,” I replied as Chase nodded.

“Bye, Chase, bye, Daddy Casey,” Henry hollered as he and Jamie skipped over to their Daddies, and Chase and I waived at them. I sincerely hoped that any of this evening’s patrons who recognized Chase remembered the non-disclosure agreement they signed upon admittance to Cordes.

“What would you like to play with?” Chase shrugged at my question. “Cars? Color?”

“I’m hungry.”

“Okay, where would you like to go and eat?” I thought about here but figured there would be far too many prying eyes and the noise level in the bar area would make a get to know you session near impossible.

“I know just the place.” Chase stood and headed for the door. “Are you coming?”

Hmm, shy boy had a cheeky side.

Challenge accepted.

When we walked outside, a hulking figure greeted us. Immediately I was in protective mode though I knew this guy could take me down in a single hit.

“Chase.”

“Sikes,” Chase replied. “Sorry.”

The guy rubbed a giant hand over his face. “You know the rules.”

“I do, but,” Chase gestured toward the building.

“Chase, discretion is key in our jobs. We say nothing. We are here to keep you safe.”

“Sorry. Casey, this is my bodyguard, Sikes. I, um…”

“Ditched me?” The mammoth man cocked an accusatory brow. “Where to now?”

“Seven Sins.”

“Wise choice. We’ll follow you.” His guard turned and headed for a black Dodge Charger while the car of my dreams parked beside it started up.

“Whoa. See that Mustang he’s parked next to?” Chase grinned. “Is that yours? That’s a…”

“2024 Mustang Dark Horse, fully loaded, manual six-speed. Got the darkest window tint possible, anonymity and all that.” Given my earlier thoughts it was like Chase knew where my mind went. His safety while on the road, of course. It had nothing to do with a desire to take that bad boy out and open it up.

Yeah, definitely not a Daddy thought, more of a mid-life crisis one.

But back to safety. I could only imagine how many crazed fans would follow him if they recognized him through the side windows.

“What’s the use in having the horsepower then opting for an automatic? So sad when others do that. Mind if I tag along? I’m a Mustang freak and have been dying to get inside one of these.” That was putting it mildly. It’d take all I had not to cream my pants like a horny teen as he hit zero to sixty in 4.1 seconds. Jesus, I shivered at the thought.

“You good to go over there?” Chase winked. It was like night and day, the change in him now versus Chase the little who I got a brief glimpse of inside. Some littles came into their own while in the headspace whereas Chase was proving to be the opposite. Almost felt like this was Chase, the performer and not Chase, the real man.
