“Yeah. Kinda.” I not so nonchalantly adjusted myself which was not missed by Chase given his smirk.

We slid inside the gloriously rumbling metallic midnight blue beauty and Chase revved the engine. I swear that rumble had me hard as a fucking rock.

“How did you get ahold of one of these?” They were rare and expensive as hell.

“I know people who know people.” Chase smoothly slid it into reverse and my heart raced. “Which is true, and they helped me custom order it to my specs.”

Jesus, this guy.

Chase was a good boy and kept to the speed limit. Not gonna lie, I was tempted to ask him to turn toward the highway and open this bad boy up but Iwas sure his guards would have something to say to that.

“Sorry, I know you want to see what my girl is packing but Sikes will have my ass, and you’ll quickly find out I’m not the rule breaker in the band. Not a fan of getting into trouble.” His vulnerable side slipped out and gave me a bit more insight.

“Maybe someday we can take this beauty on a road trip.” The words came out before I could filter them. “Not that I’m saying you want a second date.”

“Date, huh? I think I’d like that, though I have to warn you, we’ve got a crazy schedule this year.”

“I bet. The life of an up-and-coming rockstar.” Not a full-time little, though I wasn’t in the market for one. Hell, two hours ago I wasn’t in the market for anything and now here I was in a beautiful car with an equally as beautiful man.

“Will that be a problem for you? You can come to any or all of the shows you want.” And there it was again, a little in need of comfort and affirmation and he was feeling me out to see if I could give it to him. Inside I preened at the opportunity to prove my worth as a Daddy to Chase.

But was that nervous rambling or was he really interested in me?

“I’d like that.” Chase visibly relaxed at my response which answered my question.

Should I be intimidated by the fact the boy I pursued likely had more money and connectionsthan I ever would? I hoped like hell I wasn’t that shallow.

Oh, how the expectations had been reversed. This would be the first for me where a boy wasn’t dependent on Daddy financially, but I was up for the challenge.

We pulled into the parking garage at the restaurant and stopped at the valet.

“You trust another human with your baby?”

“’It’s just a car and while I love my baby girl, she is replaceable.” He patted the steering wheel. “Daddy didn’t mean that, baby girl,” he said and slid out of the seat.

What the hell did I just witness?

With the guards behind us, we stepped inside and were immediately taken back to a private table.

“I don’t think I’ve ever been seated anywhere this fast.” I glanced around and realized this meal would cost a small fortune and on my meager salary, ouch.

“Our management company has deals set up at a few places for us, this being one of them. They want to ensure we are safe and not completely trapped in our own lives. We really lucked out when we signed with Masterson.”

Wow. At least I knew they were well taken care of and not being used for their talents which was good to know. Though I questioned if moving forward whether Chase and I would be a good fit given our economic differences.Don’t overthink it, Casey. IfDavid didn’t feel Chase and I were the right combination he wouldn’t have set this up.

One could only hope.

“Chase, great to see you again,” the waitress said as she approached to the table. “What can I get you to drink?”

Chase threw a killer smile at her and her cheeks flushed. Rockstar Chase had joined the party.

“Great to see you, Denae. I’ll have a Coke,” Chase ordered.

“Iced tea for me, please.”

“I’ll be right back with your drinks.” Her eyes were glued to Chase, and I wondered if they’d beenfriendlywith each other.

“Past conquest?” I asked, a bit snippier than I’d intended.
