‘I said, up!’ Cage bellowed. ‘Unless you fancy a brisk morning spanking? I could always use my paddle to warm you up?’

Cage’s words did the trick.

In double-time too.

Before Cage could even say another word, Katie had sprung up from the bed and was prancing out of the bedroom in her warm pajamas top and bottoms.

Damn, she’s got a cute ass.

Cage momentarily caught himself staring as Katie stopped to stretch her hands up into the air.

As she did, she clenched and released her butt, making it jiggle.

It looked highly appetizing to Cage.

But that could wait.

It was breakfast time.

‘Okay, I think we’ll have a big bowl of muesli and a glass of my patented multi-berry smoothie to go with it,’ Cage said.

‘That sounds delicious,’ Katie said, climbing up onto the barstool in the kitchen. ‘It looks like another hot day outside. Too hot to play in the park even.’

Katie looked a little bit downhearted.

Cage didn’t know everything about Katie yet, but he knew how much she enjoyed playdates in the park. But if it was too hot to go outside, it didn’t mean that Katie couldn’t have fun.

Far from it.

But Cage’s plan could wait until after breakfast.

As the pair sat down to eat, a puzzled look came over Katie’s face.

‘Daddy, aren’t you leaving it a bit fine to make it into work?’ Katie asked.

Cage didn’t say anything.

Instead, he picked his cellphone up and held it to his ear.

Cage made a shushing noise as Katie was about to speak.

‘Yep, it’s Detective Jenson,’ Cage said, his voice sounding croaky and subdued. ‘Yep. Yep. Trust me, I feel even worse than I sound. Probably a bug. Yep. Will keep you informed. Thank you, Sir.’

Cage looked across and saw a huge grin on Katie’s face.

‘Daddy, are you playing hooky? That’s naughty!’ Katie said, excitement all over her voice as she proceeded to take a big sip of her smoothie. ‘You’d spank me if I ever did anything like that!’

Cage laughed.

Katie was right.

Cage would definitely spank Katie’s butt in the reverse situation.

‘That’s just one of the perks of being a Daddy,’ Cage laughed. Anyway, aren’t you pleased? We get to spend an extra day together.’

‘I’m happier than the happiest unicorn in magical rainbow-land!’ Katie declared.

Katie finished off her muesli and smoothie and Cage gave her permission to get down from the table and play.
