The kiss from earlier returns and I run my fingers through my wet curls. How the hell do I see them so differently? I truly consider Indigo my sister but Red, now she’s an entirely different ball game.

“Ah, so where’s Scarlett?” Dad asks.

“Like always, she has her nose buried in a book,” Jessica says, shaking her head as Dad relieves her of the bags. “Thanks, darling.”

“She’s not invited,” Indigo says quickly.

“And I wouldn’t want to be either,” I hear Scarlett mutter from somewhere nearby.

I glance towards the lounge, my heart racing when I spot her legs clad in black fishnet tights that are swinging over the armrest of the chair.

Fuck… I can’t help but lean back to get a better view, feeling my cock twitch as I spot tiny leather shorts that barely cover those thick thighs. I’m not sure what top she’s wearing, but it’s black and tiny and her oversized cardigan is hanging off that smooth creamy-coloured shoulder that I want to leave marks all over on.

Our eyes meet, and I’m all too aware that this is wrong… almost like looking at her might make someone figure out that I want to spread her legs and fuck her.

“What?” she asks icily, but before I can reply, Dad steps up to the door.

“Scarlett, I was thinking you should join your brother and sister for the evening.”

“No thanks,” she replies curtly.

“Yes, good. Don’t come,” Indigo says, motioning for me to hurry.

“Now, now, come on. We are leaving in the morning for the road trip, and since it’s a family event, your mother and I could do with having the house to ourselves for a couple of hours. So, you three should go out,” Dad says, making Jessica giggle.

“A romantic dinner for two sounds good,” she whispers loudly.

“And more,” Dad adds, making me look away in disgust.

“Eww!” Indigo shudders.

“I’ll go for a walk or something, or I’ll pop over to Angela’s. I don’t want to spend time with these two,” Scarlett retorts.

I smirk. “You’re just scared of being ganged up on…” I trail off, my smirk fading as I look at her, realising what I just said. Her eyes that are sharp, flicker with a moment of vulnerability and I internally kick myself.

Sorry… I didn’t mean-

“Just go,” she replies quietly, turning her attention back to her book. But I realise if she leaves, she’s going to be alone out there and I’m not ok with that.

“You’re coming with us,” I say firmly, my mind made up. Indigo looks shocked as she huffs.

“Why?” she whispers, glancing at Dad and then back at me, visibly confused.

I give her a small smile, wondering why the two of them never got along. I mean, it was always this dynamic, but as much as I hate to admit it, the hostility always seems to come from Indigo.

“Why not? The more the merrier, right? Besides, I’m going to be Alpha, I got to be a good boy and listen to my predecessor,” I remark mockingly, although it’s far from my fucking reason.

“Perfect!” Dad says, clapping his hands together. “Now up you get, Scarlett dear.”

“No, I really don’t- what is your problem? Why did you agree?” Scarlett growls, glaring at me.

“Yeah, why?” Indigo frowns. “Now she’ll ruin the evening.”

“Now up you get dear, go with your brother and sister. Have fun, you need to get out more,” Dad continues to push Scarlett.

He really can be annoying.

I hear her grumble as she steps out of the lounge and my gaze dips to the corset leather top she’s wearing. One that squashes her breasts together enticingly. She’s wearing a black strap choker necklace with a moon on it, and those lips…
