"I never said you were a charity case and I've never treated you like one," Mac said. "Why do you think that?"

"Why are you wanting to do it for me then?" she asked, not answering his question.

"Maybe because I want to. Do I need any other reason than that? I want to make you dinner and spend time with both of you."

She stared at him and blinked several times. There had to be more to it than that.

"There's nothing more to it than that. I just want to make dinner and be around you two," Mac said. "Is that so bad?"

She shrugged her shoulders. He seemed genuine in what he was saying, but no one ever just wanted to hang around her and Eleanor.

It was unheard of.

They normally wanted to get into her pants or were taking pity on her. They wanted her to be their good deed for the day, so they didn't feel guilty.

How they didn't feel guilty about treating her like that was unknown to her. She wasn't hurting for money. Editing was bringing in good money. She had three steady clients who used her all the time.

"So, do you want to come over to my house or me bring over the food?" he asked.

She still didn't know how to answer that question. Janie had never been in his house and he had never been into hers. Sure, they were similar, but they were each other's sanctuaries.

"Okay, here's what we're going to do. In forty minutes you're going to come over to my house," Mac said. "If you don't come with your daughter, then I'll come over to your house."

Before she could say anything, he turned around and walked down her sidewalk.

"I'll see you in forty minutes," he said and turned around, stopping at the end.

Janie clenched her thighs together at his demand. Oh that was so hot of him to take control like that.

"Understand?" he asked. "I like verbal answers before you nod your head."

"Yes, sir," she said before she could stop herself.

It brought her back to her being in the club the other night and him punishing her when she got in trouble. She wanted to call him Daddy so badly but it wasn't her place. He wasn't her Daddy and couldn't be.

This was a bad idea. She shouldn't be going over to his house for dinner with her daughter. She needed to stay away from him as much as possible.

"I promise you that if you don't come, I'll come over to your place," Mac said. "Just wanted to give you a warning in case you thought about abandoning me at the last minute."

She nodded her head and took a step back towards her house. She needed to get out of his sight and quickly. Who knows how red her face was.

"I'll see you soon, princess Ellie," Mac said as he looked at her daughter. "I'll see you very soon Pinky."

She stared at him as he walked over towards his house. Did he just call her pinky? What was that all about? Was that his nickname for her? Why?

She sighed and held her daughter against her. Mac was so confusing at times. Janie looked at her daughter as they walked into her house.

"That was hot. He is hot," she whispered.

CHAPTER FOUR

MAC

Mac shut the door to his house and took several deep breaths in. It wasn't his plan to invite her over for dinner, but he was glad he did it. He honestly didn't expect to see them out in the yard when he got home.

He was expecting her to still be inside or be out in town. But no, she was sitting in her yard while her daughter, sweet princess Ellie, was running around. Mac could watch both of them for hours. He wanted them to always be around. The only way he could make that happen was if they got together.

And that was what he wanted. He wanted both of them living in his house, Janie his baby girl but also his wife. He wanted Eleanor to be his daughter.
