"Are you thinking about what you did wrong?" Oliver asked.
Hedda didn't dare to move her head or speak. He had said if she talked or moved, time would start over. She wasn't about to fall for that.
"It didn't hurt," Leo gently said. "Just caught me off guard. I didn't think she would bite me, but we'll just have to keep a closer eye on her."
She heard both of their voices get a lot quieter and it took everything in her to not turn around. Why did they get silent all of the sudden? What were they talking about?
She wanted to know but she knew they were most likely looking at her while they talked. She didn't want her timerestarted, not when she was so close to finishing it. Or well, she thought she was close to finishing. She didn't actually know how much time she had left.
"Okay," Oliver said. "You can turn around and come towards us."
Hedda slowly turned around and saw both of them sitting on the bed, staring at her. She walked over towards them, but stopped a couple feet away. She knew if they wanted to grab her, they could. But it gave her a little chance of getting away if they did. Not much, but just enough so she felt more comfortable.
"That was naughty what you did," Leo said. "Why did you do it?"
She stared at him, not wanting to explain herself. She didn't have to, and she didn't want to.
"Hedda," Oliver growled. "Leo asked you a question. When he asks you something, you answer."
She closed her eyes and clenched her jaw. His voice was the same one he used when she didn't obey. One she couldn't ignore.
"You were holding onto me," she said in aduhtone. What else did he think she bit him for?
"Well, I guess she doesn't want her surprise," Leo said to Oliver.
Hedda perked up for a second at the mention of surprises. She absolutely loved surprises and they knew that.
Were they playing that against her? Did they really have a surprise for her?
"I guess she doesn't want it. I was personally looking forward to it," Oliver said.
She looked between them as they talked. Were they not going to give any hint to what the surprise was?
"Sorry," She whispered.
"For what?" Leo asked.
"For biting you. I shouldn't have done it."
She knew it was wrong and such a childish thing to do, but she couldn't help herself. Sometimes they made her so mad and she didn't think about what she was doing.
"You're forgiven," Leo gently said and held his hand open. "Just don't do it again or your punishment will be worse."
She nodded her head but didn't grab his hand. She didn't want any more physical contact right now. Not when her mind was all in a jumbled mess.
"That's okay," Leo said, but she could see the hurt in his eyes.
She didn't like that and she so badly wanted to hold his hand, but she couldn't. She couldn't get attached to them, not when they were slowly breaking down her barrier she had built around herself. Hedda didn't know when she would get out of here and she couldn't risk getting comfortable around them.
"Do you want to know your surprise?" Oliver asked. "I think you'll like it."
She shrugged her shoulders, not wanting to give away that she was so excited inside about it.
"We're going to go out and get ice cream," Oliver said.
Her breath got stuck in her lungs as she looked at them. They were leaving the house to get ice cream?
If this was any other time before she had killed Richard, she would be jumping up and down with joy. But she wasn't now.
