She continued to hit and claw at his arms and ever so slowly, her hands started to turn red. Her eyes went wide and filled with tears. She was so dirty and had so much bloodon her hands.
"Bloody hands," she said as she stared at her hands.
The blood from Richard coated her hands.
"Bloody hands," she said again as she tried to wipe away the blood but it wouldn't come off. "Need wash!"
"Hedda?" Leo gently said as he came into her view.
"Bloody hands."
She continued to try and wipe away the blood on her hands, but it wouldn't go away. It spread up her arms and she started to panic. She needed to get this off right now.
"Heddy?" Leo said as he put his hands on hers. "There's no blood."
Hedda shook her head and continued to stare at her hands. There was blood. So much of it.
"Blood everywhere," she whispered. "Need to get it off!"
Leo pulled his shirt off and gently started to wipe at her hands.
"See," Leo said. "No blood."
The blood was still on her hands and her skin was starting to crawl.
"So much blood. I need to wash it off."
"Okay, honey," Oliver said. "Let's go wash your hands."
Oliver carried her into the bathroom, caging her in between the sink and his body. She stared in the mirror with wide eyes as she saw the blood on her hands through the mirror. It looked like it was almost dripping off of her hands.
"Come on, honey," Oliver said. "Let's wash your hands."
He gently grabbed her hands and put them under the water before pulling them out and putting soap on it. The water was lukewarm and as he started to wash the soap off, the blood was stillthere.
"Hotter," she said. "Needs to be hotter."
"Just a little hotter," Oliver said. "But no more."
The water still wasn't hot enough as Oliver started to wash her hands again. The blood was still there.
"Hotter," she choked on her words, tears filling her eyes.
"No, Princess," Oliver said. "No hotter than this. You'll burn yourself if it's any hotter."
It was still lukewarm and she so badly needed it to be warmer to take the blood off of her hands. She didn't know why, but it just felt right for the water to be hotter.
"Please," she begged. "Hotter."
"Honey," Leo said. "There isn't any blood on your hands."
She shook her head. There was so much on her hands.
"Look!" she raised her voice. "Blood!"
Oliver took her hands in his and they locked eyes in the mirror.
"Hedda," he said. "I want you to look at our hands. Do you see my skin?"
