Leo shook his head. Did Rogan care about his sister's feelings? Or did he just do what was best for him all the time and push everyone else's feelings aside?

Oliver was right to call him an asshole in front of Hedda. He was and there was no denying it.

Part of Leo thought Rogan actually cared for her and what she wanted. But maybe at this moment he was worried about her being in Missouri away from him. Had they ever been separated like that?

"She was thriving," Oliver said. "She was living her life."

Hope filled Leo. Maybe this was the turning point and they could convince him she could come back with them. He hoped it was the case.

Leo wanted her back with them in Missouri. He wanted to wake up with her next to him. Kiss her whenever he wanted but also show her how much she meant to him.

"I'll ask Hedda what she wants," Rogan said. "Maybe I'll take it into consideration if I feel gracious enough."

Leo clenched his jaw. He hated that he was holdingHedda's happiness in his hand. Would he hold her here against her will, unhappy?

Oliver and Leo hadn't seen Hedda yet, but Miles had. He said she was in bad shape. Did Rogan see that? Did he see how bad of shape she was in? Was he helping her? Making changes she needed?

There were so many questions going on in his head. Was Rogan making sure she was eating? Drinking enough? Sleeping at least eight hours?

Hedda had a tendency to skip all three of those if she didn't feel like doing them. Did he know that?

Leo hoped he did, and he was doing things. But he also wasn't holding his breath. He suspected all their work on making sure she ate three meals, drank enough, and got enough sleep had gone down the drain.

Would it be easy to get her back on track when they got her back? Leo didn't know, but he hoped it would be. Even if it wasn't, both of them were prepared to help her through it again.

They were hers and she was theirs. They did things for each other.

They were there for her through thick and thin.

"Can we see her and talk to her?" Oliver asked.

Rogan growled. "Don't push your luck."

"We want to fucking see her!"

"We have the right. I want to see if she's okay," Leo said. "Has she been eating? Drinking enough?"

Rogan stared at both of them, not saying anything. There was his answer was right there. She hadn't been taking care ofherself and neither had Rogan. Was she sleeping? Were the nightmares back?

"We want to see her. Right. Fucking. Now." Oliver said.

Rogan glared at them and opened his mouth, but before he could say anything little pitter patters were heard.

Leo looked up at the stairs. Was Hedda coming towards them?

Hedda stepped out from behind the wall. She looked horrible with her pale skin, bags under her eyes, and she looked absolutely exhausted. Had she lost a little weight?

Her eyes went wide as she stared at Leo.

"Papa?" she whispered. "Daddy?"

CHAPTER FORTY-THREE

HEDDA

"Don't push your luck," Rogan said.

Hedda didn't know what was going on. She could barely hear Rogan and whoever he was with.
