“Talk.”
Finn knew he shouldn't have said that, but he couldn't stop himself. He didn't want to go into the details of how he had texted her and she didn't respond. How she felt bad for not responding because she was working and so she just decided not to respond. He didn't want to say that she might not want him to be her Daddy.
“You can't get out of this. I'll talk about mine if you talk about yours, and I don't want just some half-ass answers. I want you to explain because there's obviously something going on, and you don't seem as excited as you should be,” Mac said as he sat up straighter on the couch.
Mac was also a good listener, and Finn knew that whatever he told him he would keep to himself. He didn't have to worry about him going to any of the other seven and blabbing his mouth, and he appreciated that.
Finn let out a sigh. He knew that he needed to talk to somebody about this to see if they could see it from a different light. He felt an instant connection with Charlotte and knew after less than a day that she was his baby girl, but she had been hesitant.
Granted, it had only been a day, but Finn knew, and when someone knew, someone knew.
“We exchanged phone numbers last night, and I texted her good night, but I didn't get a response. I thought she might have already been asleep. Then I texted her this morning, telling her good morning, and she never responded,” Finn started to explain. “I got a little worried, and so I looked up her profile, but she didn't give a phone number for herself, only her friend Diana's phone number.”
Finn felt like a teenage boy at this point, talking about his school girl crush, but he knew that this wasn't just a crush. This was his future baby girl, and he didn't want to mess this up.
“Go on,” Mac said.
“So I called Diana, and she told me that Charlotte was at work and gave me the address, so I went over there to see if I could talk to her and find out if she wasn't interested anymore or what was going on.” At this point, Finn got up from his chair and started to walk around the room. “I talked to her boss, and he said she would be out soon. I caught sight of her, and when I did, she ducked, so I went to investigate. When she saw that I knew where she was, she tried to get up and bolt, but she slipped and hit her head.”
That had Mac sitting up even straighter than he was before. “Is she okay?”
If you told any Daddy Dom that a little fell, they would all be worried. It was nice that they all cared and that even if they already had a little or didn't, they would still care.
Finn let out a sigh and nodded his head. “She cried a lot, but I got her to calm down. We then went out and had a conversation, and long story short, she was super worried that since she didn't respond because she was at work that I wanted nothing to do with her.”
“Did she say that out loud?”
“Yes, she did, and I could also see it all in her body language. I repeatedly told her that it was okay that she didn't respond because of work and that I didn't expect her to respond right away, but I did expect a response.”
“So what's the problem?”
“She seems hesitant about everything. I don't know if she's ever had a Daddy of her own. She had such an uncertain look on her face that before she could speak, I told her she could have a couple of days to think about everything before we proceeded.”
Finn felt like that was a mistake, but he knew it wasn't. He wanted to tell her that he could see she wanted him, that she needed a Daddy, but he didn't want to overstep his boundaries. He didn't want to coerce her into anything or demand that she be with him.
“So are you worried that she's going to say no?” Mac asked.
Finn shook his head. “I don't think she's going to say no. I think she's going to say yes but just needs some time to think about it. I hope she does because I know she's the one.”
Mac chuckled and shook his head.
“What?” Finn asked.
“I've just never seen you like this. Sure you've had littles before, but you've never been this serious. You've only known her for twenty-four hours, and you already know that she's the one?” Max said. “It's just different. What's next, you're going to cut your hours and not work as much if she says yes?”
Finn had already thought about that. If Charlotte said yes to him, he was going to cut some of his hours and take vacation time to hang out with her and get to know her.
“If she says yes, I'll probably take half days so that I can hang out with her in the afternoon and get to know her,” Finn said as he stopped walking and looked at Mac.
Mac's face turned to shock, and he stood up from the couch. “I'm happy for you. I really am because you deserve this. You've gone a long time without a little, without taking care of someone, and put all this work into the club. It's time that you got a break, that you had someone.”
Finn agreed with him. He was glad that he worked so hard the past couple of years and saved up all this money. Now he could take vacation time and spoil his little girl if she said yes.
He couldn't wait for the day when he got to spoil his little girl. It could be tomorrow, the next week, or a couple of months from now, but he couldn't wait.
“Well, I've gotta go get some work done,” Mac said as he walked toward the door.
“Ah, ah, ah. Don't you dare walk out of this office. You said fair trade, and you don't go back on your word,” Finn said.
