“W
here’s Mason?” Vinnie asked, shrugging out of his coat and hanging it by the front door. He kicked off his tennis shoes and then bent over, stretching out his lower back and hamstrings. His body wassore. He’d worked the last three days in a row and was grateful he would be off the next two before working the weekend.
“He’s still at the clubhouse. He had to finish up editing our video,” Tomas said, watching him from the couch in the living room.
“The infamous video,” Vinnie said, moving into the room. “He wouldn’t let me watch any of it until after it was edited.”
Tomas stretched his bare arms over the back of the couch, his only clothing the slutty gray sweatpants Mason had bought him, and eyed Vinnie with a look he would never get tired of. Hunger, possessiveness, affection. “I haven’t seen it either, but if it looks as good as it felt, I’d say it’s a winner.”
Vinnie snorted. “Don’t move. I’m going to go change real quick.”
“I’m not going anywhere, gatito.”
His belly warmed at the double meaning in the words as he darted upstairs into Tomas’s bedroom, opening one of his drawers in the second dresser that had appeared weeks ago. Half had his clothes, half had Mason’s. They also had stuff in the closet.
He was trying hard not to think about what that meant.
He jumped in and took a quick shower, rinsing the day off his body, and then pulled on his own pair of slutty sweats and headed back downstairs. Tomas was still by himself, wide chest looking damn welcoming after Vinnie’s long day. He was searching for something to watch on the TV when Vinnie climbed up onto the couch next to him and snuggled in, pressing their skin as close together as it could get.
“Tired?” Tomas asked, his voice a low rumble that Vinnie could practically feel where his face pressed into his pecs.
He nodded, Tomas’s sexy black and gray chest hair scratching at his face. “Been a long few days, had a couple tough assignments. I’m very much ready to relax.”
“Do you want me to make you a sandwich?” Tomas asked, rubbing at his neck and shoulders as he continued to scroll through the options on the TV.
“No, I’m not hungry right now. Just need this,” he mumbled, nuzzling in closer.
He felt Tomas’s lips on the side of his head, pressing in a kiss. “I need this too, gatito.”
Words Vinnie had wanted to say for weeks lodged in his throat. He hadn’t been able to get them out. As much as his life had changed and improved, part of him was still a little scared, even though he knew in his head that what the three of them had was real and that Tomas would never choose Mason over him or grow tired of giving them each what they needed and decide he only wanted one of them.
A small part of him still carried that worry. Kept him from being completely free and vulnerable with his feelings. He wanted to say it. He wanted Tomas to know. Needed him to know. Maybe if he just?—
“I love you,” Tomas said softly, giving him another kiss. “I love you so much, gatito. You’ve made my life so good and so full. I don’t know how I lived before the two of you.”
Tears sprung up in his eyes, and he pushed himself upright, throwing a leg over Tomas’s lap to straddle him. He clasped his fingers behind Tomas’s head, pressing his thumbs beneath his jaw to force his face up. They were only inches apart, and the look in his eyes, like even though he meant the words, he was worried Vinnie wasn’t going to say them back, was what forced them out of his chest, up his throat, and past his lips.
He couldn’t stand for asecondletting Tomas think his feelings were one-sided, that he didn’t treasure their relationship just as much, or wonder how he and Mason had lasted as long as they had without him and his gentle, caring nature.
“I love you too,” he said clearly, leaning down to press a quick kiss to his mouth and then whispering against his lips, “I’ve felt this way for a long time. Don’t ever doubt it. Don’t ever doubt us.”
