“Technically they should be jealous of me,” I joked.

“I believe they already are,” His remark made me look around and found a few girls giving me the stink eye.

“Oh, well,” I said with a shrug looking back at him and pecking his lips, totally aware I was adding gas to the fire.

The game finally kicked off and everyone was on the edge of their cheats cheering and yelling at their teams when they missed a shot or had their possession stolen. Brandon was part of that crowd and it was hilarious to see this side of him.

Brandon calmed down a bit and looked at me making sure I was still doing alright.

“I can already see the headlines: Brandon Hills loves a challenge on the ice and big on cheering for his favorite basketball team.” I joked.

He chuckled and eased forward over his seat where his face was mere inches away from mine. “Well, I can see a much different headline.”

I frowned at his remark.

“Kissing cam.” He gestured with his head making me lift my gaze and found our faces on the kissing cam screen.

It was a dangerous game I was letting myself fall into, but one look at Brandon and I know it was worth ruffling a few or more feathers.

My mind was telling me to back up while my heart was bursting with excitement when we leaned across the chairs and have our lips meet.

“They love you,” I noted at the sound of people cheering when we pulled apart.

“Yeah, but I love you,”

CHAPTER SEVENTY-SIX

“So, is this the part where I tell you that I will call you?” Brandon asked with a playful look and a smile in his voice.

It was after midnight when we decided it was time to go back to the hotel after having a night filled with fun.

We were standing in front of his room and I was a bit unsure what the next move was.

“Depends if you want to see me again,” I decided to play along.

“Hmm, I should think about that,” He joked unlocking the door to his room.

I rolled my eyes at his playfulness.

He turned back around facing me and snaked an arm around my waist. “Of course, I want to see you again and I want you to stay over, but only if you feel comfortable.”

“I’m not afraid of you touching me,” I informed watching him arch an eyebrow.

“I amafraidthat you won’t,” I clarified.

I patiently waited for him to make a move—any kind of move will be good right now even if it just ends up as a kiss.

He lifted his hands and skimmed his knuckles up and over my cheeks. “I am afraid I will never be able to let go if we go all the way, angel.”

I searched his eyes and thought this was it. Our date was over and it was time to get back to reality, and I was ready to go, but he finally took the lead when he wrapped his hand around the back of my head bending his head forward, fusing our mouths.

Without removing his lips from mine, he pulled me into his room and shut the door behind us.

My mind was rushing, my hands grabbing hold of his shirt and twisting it to steady myself as a whirlwind of emotions raptured inside me. Breaking through the windows and doors of my soul and igniting a flame of desire.

We broke the kiss to come for air. My heart and lungs were pounding against my chest and I was ready to watch them break through my ribcage.

Brandon’s eyes were clouds of a storm ready to bring absolute distraction of emotions.
