“Yeah, I needed a moment,” I choked out. I licked my lips, suddenly feeling parched.
“A moment meaning… all day?”
“I needed to sit alone and think.”
“And, now, you don’t?”
He used his second towel, rubbed his hair, and walked back up the stairs. If he expected me not to follow, he was out of his mind. I climbed the steps, two at a time, and met him at the door of his room. The large four-poster bed was white with tall spikes reaching towards the ceiling. His black duvet was in harsh contrast.
“I want to hear what you have so far.”
He sat on the couch, his legs spread, not giving away any of his magnificent bits. “I have a bunch of junkies crashing at his home. So far, he hasn’t gotten a new delivery. That girl is there almost daily.” I sat on the edge of his bed and nodded, taking it all in—Morgan, the stupid seventeen-year-old that hung around a man who wanted nothing but bad things for her. I wanted to cut Jose’s nuts off just for corrupting her. “Give me another week; then, you can have him.”
“Why couldn’t you start with that?”
He stood and sauntered to where I sat and pushed me back onto the mattress. “I don’thaveto give you anything.” He put his finger in the middle of my chest and pushed me further into the bed. “I give you what Iwantto.”
My breath hitched as he pressed his knee between my thighs and stepped between them. He bent over and rested his hands on either side of my head. My heart pattered erratically, like horse hooves on the plain. I bit my lip and stared into his deep eyes. “What are you doing?”
“Giving you something you want.” His hips ground against my core, and I tried capturing the moan that escaped my traitorous lips.
“I don’t want Kandy’s sloppy seconds.”
I slapped his locked elbow, and he collapsed to the side, giving me the upper hand to roll on top of him.
“You’re in luck. She’s never had me.” He grabbed the nape of my neck and brought me close to his mouth. “I never wanted her.” His warm, minty breath fanned over my mouth, and I chewed my cheek to keep myself from giving in.
“Pity for her.”
“You smell like juice.” He flicked his tongue over my lips, and I opened to let him taste me. “And gin.”
“Perceptive.” I took shallow breaths, hesitating, debating on the next move. I settled my arms on his chest and ran my hands through his damp hair, and gripped roughly, making him growl. His quick roll left me pinned beneath him again. I pulled, and his towel came away, leaving him hanging heavy against my thigh. “And presumptive.”
He chuckled. “I need you,” he whispered in my ear.
“That makes one of us.” What I would give to have him right this minute, but I couldn’t. I was still mad at him.
“Don’t lie.” He nipped at my jaw. “But that’s not what I meant. I have a mole.”
I pressed against his plump lips, giving in to one last kiss, and shoved at his chest, pushing him off me. “Sounds like something you should discuss with your doctor.”
I grabbed his towel as he stumbled back and snapped his bare thigh, just below his thick hanging member. His glare of death made me gulp, and he yanked the towel from my hands. “I’m not a masochist, Charity. So let me show you how much I like to hurt pretty brunettes.”
I glanced down, making it obvious I was looking. “You don’t need to tell me,he’sdoing it for you.” His length grew, giving away his excitement.
His mischievous grin caused shivers to ripple down my spine as he stalked forward. “Don’t make me chase you.”
“I don’t run.”
He lunged at me and shoved me against the bedpost, his fingers digging into my waist. His warm tongue licked from my collarbone to earlobe, stopping at the tender skin, and nipped. “Too bad. I love an excellent game of cat and mouse.”
I smirked.
He stepped back, leaving me breathless with an intense fire in my belly—the tease. He pulled a pair of sweats from his drawer and pulled them up to his hips, covering up the parts that made me drool. Images of me tearing his pants off and taking him deep into my mouth stoked a fire that had been burning for way too long.
I shook the thought from my mind and resumed the conversation before he purposefully attacked me. The grin slipped from my face.
“One week, then?”
