Unfortunately, even though there was a new ruler, King Emrys’ decree to execute Casimir and others who had “betrayed” him remained in place.
Panahasi might have messed up with Casimir and Damon, but at least he’d fixed it in the end, and now the two were expecting their first child.
And that’s what this trip was all about today. If everyone knew what was coming in 200 years, they would be worshipping the mated couple instead of constantly causing trouble for the people in the Frost household.
When the guards were close enough, Panahasi created a portal and walked right through it, closing it behind him as he emerged in the throne room. The doors must have been secured, because he didn’t see any guards around.
King Matoy was sitting on his throne, making out with a much younger man. See, now that just pissed Panahasi off even more. While the king was trying to get laid, he should have been doing the same thing at home.
Matoy let out an obnoxious groan when he noticed Panahasi approaching. “To what do I owe this displeasure, demon leader?”
Panahasi glared at the other man as he kept walking toward the king.
“Darling, why don’t you go wait for me in my chambers?” Matoy purred to the young man who walked away with a satisfied smirk. “This better be important, demon leader. You’ve interrupted my playtime.”
“Funny, I was about to say the same thing.” Panahasi flicked his fingers, pinning Matoy to the wall by an invisible force. “I’ll cut right to the chase since my mates are continuing our game without me.”
“Release me this instant!” Matoy snarled.
Panahasi stopped three feet from the king. “I will gladly release you once you call off the execution orders of those eight rogue guards.”
“You’ve gone mad,” Matoy argued. “You must have gotten lost on your way home because the last time I checked, this was the Unseelie realm, not the demon realm. You have no authority here.”
“And you will also retract any arrest or kill orders you have for Riadh Shadowlace and Elvine Sparkleboots.” Panahasi would never stop finding amusement in those unique names. They always made him smile.
“I will do no such thing,” Matoy spat defiantly.
The guy just had to be difficult when Panahasi was trying to get back home. His mates better not fuck without him, damn it.
He waved his wrist and Matoy slid higher up the wall. “Then enjoy being stuck up there for eternity.”
“You can’t do this!”
“Watch me.” Panahasi strode away, but turned and began walking backward. “Oh, just so you know, even your most powerful fae won’t be able to release you down from that wall. My powers trump Unseelie magic. I’ll return in about…hmm, let’s say five hundred years to see if you’ve had a change of heart.”
“You have no idea who you’re dealing with,” Matoy threatened.
“Hold that thought.” Panahasi held up a finger and pulled out his vibrating phone. He snarled when he saw a picture of Casey and Drake lying on the plastic Twister mat, sucking each other off. Who in the fuck had taken the picture? Oh, right. He’d bought them smartphone tripods. For a moment, the world had been close to ending. Panahasi enlarged the picture and groaned at the saucy smirk Drake was giving him. Brat.
“Are you really making me wait up here while you look at naked photos?” Matoy sounded incredulous.
“Sorry, time’s up.” Panahasi tucked his phone away. “And if you ever look at my naked mates again, I’ll carve out your eyes and shove them somewhere unpleasant.”
He wasn’t actually going to leave. This was too important. Since he’d been inconvenienced, Panahasi had decided to have a bit of fun with this. But after that photo, he was quickly losing his patience with the king. The guy was causing Panahasi to waste valuable sexy time with his mates.
Lord knew spare time was rare for him, and this dickhead was wasting it when there were much more pleasurable things Panahasi could be doing.
“You can’t be serious about leaving me up here. What’s so important about those fae? Casimir turned on his king. Elvine left the realm, and Raidh…” Matoy smirked, a malevolent glint in his eyes. “Galamir should have informed me he was hiding such a priceless gem.”
Narrowing his eyes, Panahasi opened a portal right under Matoy. “You arrogant fae never learn,” he snarled. “Maybe your successor will give me what I want. If not, I’ll keep dropping kings into portals until one of them concedes.”
“Wait!” Matoy’s eyes widened. “Fine, the orders are retracted.” He scowled. “But don’t you ever come to me again for any more favors. I’m all tapped out.”
Panahasi let him slide down the wall a few feet, bringing him closer to the portal hovering midair underneath him.
“What do you expect me to do, retract all of my orders?” Matoy argued.
“No,” Panahasi replied with a curl of his lip. “I’m just showing what will happen if you ever threaten me again. Now hand over the orders.”
