Business Meeting

The afternoon had movedalong nicely after I purchased my wedding dress. I had to come back two months before the big day to have it fitted, and so did Paisley. We found the perfect maid of honor gown for her with matching crystals. Everything about it was glamorous. Sandra had suggested it because it was in style at the moment and would be stunning beside my wedding gown.

Paisley tried it on beside my wedding dress and no one’s eyes were dry. We cried happy tears at the unforgettable moment and relived stories of the past. But her constant friendship always stuck by me and I was grateful I had her by my side.

I peered over at her sitting on the couch beside me with her feet tucked in underneath her and a Kleenex box in between us. She leaned her head against her hand with her elbow resting on the arm of the couch and she sobbed at a cheesy scene from the movie The Wedding Planner. Jennifer Lopez won my heart every time as she stole the groom’s heart and never gave it back. Not that he wanted it back, anyway. He was hers and she was his, even if they didn’t see it until the very end.

We decided this would be suitable for the occasion and we were in the mood for anything to do with weddings. I watched as they danced and kissed in the park under the tree with a late-night movie playing in the background. The scene was perfect for a romance and the kiss was full of passion.

“God, I wish I could find a man like that.” Paisley sighed as she admired the happy couple and the movie ended.

“You won’t if you keep falling into every guy’s bed on the first date.” I teased and threw a piece of popcorn at her.

Paisley made an offended face and threw the popcorn back at me. “Oh, is that right?”

She dodged for a handful of popcorn and a food fight broke out. We hysterically laughed as popcorn littered the couch and showered the living room. It reminded me of old times back at the dormitory where anything goes, and it was just the two of us. I was so thankful to have a loyal friend like Paisley by my side, no matter what happened in life.

Suddenly, the front door creaked open with the jiggle of keys and we stopped midway through, launching another piece of popcorn. Dylan stood by the door as it slowly closed behind him and he eyed us both. His brown hair was off to the side, like he ran his hands through it several times. He was frustrated, and I knew his day at work had been a tough one. Dear daddy had hooked into him and pulled at the line as much as he could.

“Hey, darling...” I muttered with embarrassment and pulled popcorn from my hair as it fell to the floor.

I strolled over to his side as my cheeks burned bright red and leaned in close. He smelled of cologne as my lips gently touched his cheek and left a slight peck there. As I pulled my head back to look at his handsome face, a frown laid in its place instead of an adoring smile. He reached out, and I waited for his sweet caress, but he grabbed a piece of kernel from my hair.

“Can you clean up this mess?” He glared with annoyance, ignored my affection, and looked over at Paisley. “Did you forget we have dinner plans with my father in one hour for an important business meeting?”

I blinked my eyes several times at his rudeness and pulled away from him. “I must’ve forgotten.”

He walked away from me and over towards the countertop in the kitchen. His cold shoulder was nothing new after a long day of work by his father’s side, but I never understood his harsh treatment of bitterness with me. I didn’t choose for him to work for his dear daddy. If it was my choice, Dylan would do something else, and I’d never have to see his father again.

“I need you ladies to be looking your best because a client will be there.” Dylan breathed as his voice echoed. He placed his briefcase on the countertop, turned away, and walked further into the penthouse. “Well, don’t just stand there. You know my father doesn’t like tardiness.”

My face burned brighter with embarrassment from his behavior and I frowned towards my friend with an exhausted sigh. “Well, we better get ready for dinner because dear daddy awaits.”

Paisley simply scrunched up her face and asked. “Is he always like that?”

I rolled my eyes and led the way to the bedroom. “Only for his father.”

ISMOOTHED MY BRIGHTred dress, tousled my hair, and laid my hand on my fiancé’s thigh. The smooth fabric glided on my hand as I caressed him and squeezed him with tease. I smiled up at him, but he pushed my hand away and Paisley watched from the other side of the limousine.

I knew Dylan was tense, and he always was for these functions. It happened when his father was involved and I couldn’t blame him one bit, but he was being a prick. Plus, he embarrassed me in front of my friend and it got on my last nerve.

“Lighten up a little, darling.” I mumbled and kept my voice low.

“It’s hard when I’m walking right into the pit of a fiery dragon.” Dylan growled under his breath.

Normally, on a limousine ride to a business meeting, I’d suck on Dylan’s cock. It gave him the stress relief he needed to function with his intimidating father around, but Paisley was here. So, it threw him for a loop and would help explain his inappropriate behavior. But I still didn’t deserve his crap attitude, and neither did my best friend.

He had some sucking up to do.

I huffed and sat back in my smooth leather seat with my arms crossed. The limousine bounced from a speed bump and I gazed out the window at the fancy restaurant. The bright white lights beamed back at me and created a shimmer on the window of the limousine.
