The vehicle stopped out front, and the driver came around to open our door for the arrival. He wore a neatly kept black suit with a black top hat and it had a straight brim. Dylan exited the limousine first and didn’t offer me his hand. The kind driver did, and I nodded to the sweet gesture as he offered Paisley his hand next. She took it and beamed up at him with a flirty tease.

If she could, she’d probably fuck him in the back of the limousine right about now and I giggled at the thought. She let go of his hand, ruffled her hair with her hands and smoothed out her dress. She flashed him one last flirtatious smile and batted her eyelashes with approval, but the driver got back into his ride.

“Oh, he’s just playing hard to get.” Paisley teased as she took my arm within hers and we followed behind an impatient Dylan. “But your fiancé is being quite the jerk.”

“Shh, would you keep your voice down?” I whispered and made a face as I leaned in closer. “He always gets his balls in a bunch when dear daddy is on his mind.”

“Well, he better make up for his rude behavior later.” Paisley playfully winked at me, and I felt my cheeks blush.

I simply flashed a shy grin, but knew exactly what she meant. He should grant me mind blowing sex and an explosive orgasm. But little did she know, I usually ended up with my vibrator.

“Right, let’s get this over with, ladies.” Dylan breathed over his shoulder as his eyes set on his father and he led the way.

“Are you ready to meet the famous world class grouch and owner of D.S. Industries?” I muttered under my breath, but only Paisley heard me.

“Do I really have a choice?” Paisley asked in a sarcastic tone and shrugged in defeat.

I giggled, but the laughter caught in my throat as soon as Daxon Stark’s deep stare glared at me. A heat rose from my tippy toes tucked inside my high heels and travelled to my cheeks. His eyes burned with mistrust, but as his gaze travelled down my body, something else mixed inside it. It was something I couldn’t describe, but figured it was his downright hatred for me.

His eyes left me and wandered to my friend, who still had her arm wrapped around mine. His eyebrows narrowed and his eyes squinted as he glared at her with uncertainty. He smoothed his black business tie and clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth.

Oh, shit...

“I didn’t realize we were expecting guests?” He glared with distaste and got out of his seat.

“It was a pleasant surprise when I got home.” Dylan replied as he took his seat and didn’t offer me mine.

Bullshit...

Dylan’s been nothing but an asshole since he got home and my blood was about to boil over. Paisley must’ve felt the tension and squeezed my arm, but let me go with a reassured smile. I returned it and walked to my seat beside Dylan, but to my surprise, Daxon held the chair out for me. I gazed at him, stunned by his gesture, and he nodded towards my seat as his brown eyes toyed with mine.

Oh, I get it.

He simply played the part of a devoted daddy-in-law for the matter of his business. His pride and passion. Well, two could play his wicked game.

“How kind of you...” I breathed with sass, plastered on a fake ass smile and lowered my voice even more. “Daddy Daxon is at it again.”

I sat down in my chair beside Dylan while his father leaned in close and he pushed in my seat. He glided me into the table with minimal effort as I imagined his biceps with them flexed under his expensive suit and his aftershave surrounded me. The masculine scent drew me in and made my womanhood clench with need. But it was his warm breath on my neck that made me shiver with temptation.

“You better not ruin this for me, young lady.” He growled in a whisper only I could hear.

And I whispered in return with sass. “I wouldn’t dream of it, daddy.”

He let out one last growl from deep in his throat and pushed off of my chair. My breasts bounced a bit from the force and I held in a gasp. I didn’t want to create a scene. I gazed around the table and the client’s kind eyes locked with mine.

“Is there a problem, Mr. Stark?” She asked with uncertainty and her confusion squinted back at us.

Daxon cleared his throat behind me, made his way back to his seat, and pressed his tie against his chest. “No, just another situation I never see coming when my son’s beautiful fiancée is around.”

The client narrowed her eyebrows together and frowned at me. She looked from Paisley towards me and it lost me for words. The shock was still in my system from his nearness, and his mistrust for me always threw me off. I looked at Paisley with a nervous grin and she knew all too well the tension fumed from me.

Paisley blurted out with a bright smile on her face. “This is just an eventful meeting that’s been bound to happen.”

The client broke out in a smile and laughed at her comment. The awkwardness in the air subsided as I laughed right along with her and others joined in. It was a forced situation for me, but Paisley’s fast thinking saved the day. I mouthed her a quick thank you when no one looked my way and she secretly winked in my direction.

Crisis averted.

I exhaled all the tension I once felt, but it built back up as soon as Daxon’s eyes met mine. They pierced into me with a forewarning. Don’t fuck this up or I was going to pay the price.
