Letting out another sigh, I close the bag and say, “I can’t believe I’m turning to drugs to make money.”
“You don’t have to. You said you needed money now, and I figured this was the easiest way. Sure, it’s risky, but most of the police in this town steer clear of the club, so you should be safe. I also added you as my plus one, so the police know not to fuck with you.”
“You did? Why?”
“Of course, I did. They know to protect you and keep you safe in my absence.”
I chuckle nervously. “Who are you? The mayor?”
I don’t even know his last name. He could be anyone, including a serial killer, and I’d be clueless.
“There’s no way I’d want to run a city. Look, I’m going away on a work trip this weekend, but will be back late Sunday night. You can sell the pills at the club, or around campus if you want, but you don’t have to feel pressured to do it.”
He parks in front of my dorm building.
“I’ll see if I can sell them at the club first before selling them here. Do you want to come over on Sunday when you get in?”
“I would, but the plane isn’t landing until after midnight and I know you have class early.”
Disappointment fills my veins, but I try to not let it show.
I lean over the center console and give him a chaste kiss before getting out of his car. “I’ll see you Monday, then, if you aren’t too busy for little ole me.”
I hope he knows I’m just teasing him, and not really mad.
He turns in his seat to face me. His eyes darkening with lust. “Keep up the sass and I’ll punish you.”
I close the door and lean through the open window, intrigued by his so-called punishment. “How so?”
“Have you ever come so much you begged for it to stop? Where even the gentlest touch was too much to bear? Where the soft air from a breath sent you over the edge?”
I gulp and shake my head. Whispering out, “Never.”
He gives me a knowing smirk. “Well, that’s what I’d do to you.”
Fuck me. That sounds hot.
As I walk to my room, on shaky legs, moisture gathers in my panties. It’s going to be a very long weekend without him.
Chapter Six
SPENCER
I followthe team through the tunnel to our locker room. Sweat pours down my face as I take my helmet off and throw it into the cubby.
Rhett Montgomery plops down on the bench next to me. “Fuck, that period was brutal.”
“You’re telling me. That’s the worst we’ve played all season.”
Chase Williams scoffs from across the locker room. “You say that as if we are already at the All Star break or playoffs.”
“It was a general statement about our shitty performance.” I bark out before grabbing my towel and drying my face.
“Yikes, someone is testy tonight.”
I flip him off, not bothering to waste oxygen explaining my reasoning. I’m met with a chorus of laughter.
My phone rings from behind me. As soon as I see who it is, my mood instantly perks up.
