Joey nods toward the women. “At least they are getting along. It will be nice for them to have someone to talk to and hang out with while we are gone. As long as you are one hundred percent sure Savannah isn’t just after your money or the publicity.”

I know what he’s implying. As long as she’s not working for the feds and gathering information on his family.

I shake my head. “She’s not. She’s honestly one of the best women I’ve known.”

And I mean that in more than the literal sense.

Chase asks, “How are they going to hang out when Savannah has school and Francesca has a job working for the Sharks?”

Rhett chimes in. “School and work don’t take up the entire twenty-four hours of the day, dumbass.”

He shoves at Rhett. “I never said it did, dick.”

Interrupting their conversation, I say, “Whatever. Are you guys going to leave so I have at least a few hours with my girl before I have to pack?”

Chase presses his hand against his chest and pretends to be offended. “Are you kicking us out? After everything we’ve been through together?”

“Hell yeah I am. I want to be alone with my girl, and if you guys had a girl, maybe you would want to be with them more.”

We are going to be gone for almost a week. That’s almost a week of not seeing Savannah. A week of not touching her tempting body, not kissing her plump lips, and not feeling her wrap herself around me.

Chase scoffs. “I’ll have you know I’ve got plenty of options.”

I open the front door and gesture to the hallway. “Good, then call one of them, because you’ve overstayed your welcome.”

“Fine. Thanks for the party. I’ll see you tomorrow.” He gives me a smile and a nod before disappearing down the hallway.

Knox, Gage, and Joey say their goodbyes and follow Chase. I close the door and sigh. “Damn, that was exhausting. Next time, it’s only going to be the four of us.”

Rhett leans against the door and points to Savannah and Francesca. “What do you think they are talking about? They’ve been inseparable since twister.”

I shrug and gaze at the women. “Honestly, I have no clue. It can’t be anything we don’t know about, can it?”

Rhett thinks for a moment. “Maybe it’s about fashion, makeup, or reality shows? Didn’t you say Savannah is studying fashion? Francesca loves fashion.”

“Yeah, that is a possibility, because I pretend like I know about her designs, but I’m completely clueless. Savannah must know that I’m not very knowledgeable when it comes to fashion.”

“I’ll get it out of Francesca tonight and let you know tomorrow on the plane if you still don’t know what they talked about.”

Do I even want to know? Savannah deserves her privacy. I trust her, and I trust Francesca.

“At least Savannah has someone to help her adjust to the mafia lifestyle. Someone to let her know what’s expected of her.”

I narrow my gaze at him. “Are you saying I’m not good enough?”

Rhett chuckles. “You’re damn straight I am. The lifestyle is completely different for women.”

“Maybe it’s different for Francesca because she’s the mafia princess, but Savannah isn’t part of the family. Nor is she dating the heir to the mafia empire.”

“I get your point, but according to Chessie, there will be certain things expected of her.”

“Like what?”

“Well, if things get more serious with you and her, she will be expected to produce an heir. One who will work for the family as he gets older. Someone who will have responsibilities in the organization.”

I frown.

Can I expect this from Savannah? Can I doom my children to a life full of organized crime?
