“I’m yours, baby,” he confirmed.
Those had become my favorite words, and I moaned upon hearing them.
“I love this tank top,” I said as I caressed his shoulders.
His teeth gritted next to my ear as his palms gripped my back so tightly I was sure I was going to bruise, but it was worth it.
“And I love this dress, but I still want to rip it to shreds,” his palm reached between my legs and I whimpered instinctively.
“You didn’t think I’d forgotten how you opened your legs in front of me earlier, did you?” he grinned.
I winced as I felt his fingers tugging at my underwear and literally cried out as he slid one of his fingers inside me.
I bit my lips and held on to his shoulders.
“You don’t have to prove anything to me anymore, baby. I trust you,” I began, unable to finish my sentence because his touch was driving me insane, “I want more from you, not just a finger.”
Harris gasped against my neck and pulled me closer to him. I was now sitting on the edge of the desk and would have fallen if he hadn’t propped me up.
“I know, baby, but I can’t. Not yet.”
I frowned, then winced. Maybe it was just a finger, but he knew the right way to use it to drive me crazy.
“When then?” I found the strength to ask and stay conscious.
Harris stopped and pressed his forehead to mine.
“Not when, but if,” I frowned, confused by his words, “if you still want to be with me after the secret segment is gone, I told you that.”
I breathed as fear crept in. He still insisted on that, even after I’d confessed my love for him, even after he’d gotten the tattoo.
All of that included, it seemed that our secret segment was so bad that it would be possible to determine me to leave him after I found out the truth.
When I wrapped my legs around him, the gun pressed against my skin.

RIDE OR DIE

I was still engrossed in Harris’ explanation when the car came to a stop.
I lifted my eyes to the huge mansion in front of us, surrounded by laser lights and thick smoke, while loud music shook the ground and I could feel it even in the car.
“Oh my God,” I groaned, not knowing if what followed was good or bad.
Harris smiled and got out of the car, motioning for me to stay in the car. I rolled my eyes and watched as he crossed in front of the car and opened the door for me. I took his hand without saying anything and got out, feeling the cold night air envelop me.
I had asked V for a jacket, but she said I would get so hot that I would want to take all my clothes off.
I didn’t really want to think about that.
We were surrounded by indescribable chaos. Drunk and euphoric teenagers crowded around dozens of cars, one more powerful than the other, all tuned up.
It would be a lie to say that this was not the life I had hoped for when I moved to Seattle.
