You’re my mates,was all I said.

Another question, Poison. Are you feeding off these demons?Kain’s growly voice made me shiver. The others noticed how my energy level rose and growled as well.

I gulped as their demonic eyes glared at me.I’m not feeding like a Succubus. The energy is natural for me just like air is, but I might have pulled on a few people’s emotions to strengthen myself. I just had to use a lot of magic, and if Lucifer tries something else, I need the boost.

Kain’s shadows wrapped around my neck like a rope. It closed off my air way and dragged me to him. My toes slid against the floor. There was no fear inside of me, though. Pure arousal drenched my panties. It got worse when their bodies pressed in on me, surrounding me.

Who?Kain’s mouth didn’t move, but the darkening of his features thrilled me.

I sent him the image of the few people I took greed from closest to us in the bleachers. They weren’t among the good ones that I’d seen around. They liked to viciously toy with the slaves, which was why they didn’t have one anymore.

I gasped at the sound of pained screams coming from that direction. The shadow holding me let me move my head to watch the carnage of Kain’s large shadow beasts attacking the people I’d showed him. The jealous fucker killed them. The giggle that escaped me surprised even me, but I kind of loved Kain more now.

“I told you, if you fed off of anyone, I’d kill them,” Kain whispered in my ear.

The heat of his body pressed up against mine made me bite my lip.

The sound of several people coming ruined the fucking moment. As my lip curled, the shadow disappeared from my neck. The bile that rose in the back of my throat was forcefully pushed down. Could he kill them too?

We’re not done with this conversation. but, as our leader, I relinquish control once more.

Was I drooling? Because I wouldn’t be surprised. He had come so far in the short amount of time, and it was sexy as heck.

“Whoa! That’s what I like to call a party. Give the Queen a round of applause,” Lucifer said as he pushed the yellow demon away. He wiped his brow with a smile.

All my men growled at the way Lucifer worded his sentence. He was implying that I was the Queen of Hell, his Queen, not the one assigned to the school. Fucker just got more excited at my men’s reactions.

“Lucifer, let’s end this.” The Hellhound came to my defense again, even if it just sounded like he was being selfish about it.

“I know, deadlines and shit. You truly are no fun anymore. I can’t wait for you to fail, and I can get your mate. It’ll serve you right for being a pain in my ass for years now.”

My eyes widened at what he just said. Piper. Lucifer was going for Piper, but the law said he couldn’t take her without cause. Damn it. If I could help, I would.

“Very well, since we are all satisfied from the sex and violence gifted to us, I’ll make this short. The yearly sacrifice will be a group effort this year.” The councils didn’t even know his plan if their eagerness was anything to go by. They watched Lucifer like a hawk.

“The names will be sent to you within a day or two. Then, the ceremony to celebrate your surviving another year will commence. Attendance is mandatory.” His tone was a mixture of annoyance and smug satisfaction of making everyone worry. Thecrowd whispered almost as one. He changed almost everything about the Sacrifice this year, and the students were worried.

He had the authority to do almost anything he wanted, and the asshole loved it. I could sense him feeding off the pride he had in having that much control. I made a promise to myself that I’d rip that power away from him.

With that, he disappeared. The other council members followed immediately after. A few gave me a nod as they did, recognizing my status was close to theirs.

I wasn’t really worried. No one I truly cared for could be chosen. I would take back Lilah as my slave, so her name couldn’t be drawn either. By being one of the winners of the Bloodbath, me and my slaves could not be chosen again. All my mates had won as well, so it wasn’t a big deal.

However, I knew an opportunity when I saw one. Lucifer was planning something, but I was going to plan as well. This ceremony was our opportunity to strike. The Devil was going down, and I’d be the one to kill the bastard.

CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX

The new drama with Lucifer had everyone on edge, so we planned a night of relaxation. After, we broke into the cafeteria and burned every fruit cup, though.

Dex insisted, and I agreed.

I had told my faction to leave them alone and to let Stanine know if they felt a psychological numbness. So far, ten people said they had. This things needed to be destroyed.

That was why we took time to make a bonfire, and enjoyed watching the flames rise. This was a small victory. A way to fight back.

Each one of us threw a cup in. Dex, though, he kind of went fanatical with it. He attacked the boxes with a roar and slammed them into the fire. I protected his body from any of the liquid with an air shield. I wasn’t great at it, but it was better than nothing.

Dex loved giving me those snacks. He got up early every day to make sure, I got one. He felt betrayed by them. I was going to miss them too. It was our thing, and Lucifer defiled it with a curse.
