She hops off of the bed, darting me a teasing glance over her shoulder and sticking out her tongue. I’m tempted to tackle her back into this bed and keep her here all day, but rationality prevails- instead, I relax back onto the pillows, propping myself up on an elbow and resting my head on my hand as I watch Quinn search the floor for her clothes. My bedsheets smell like her- sweet, like strawberries and vanilla. I think it’s my favorite scent in the whole world.

Every time I see Quinn naked, it’s like the first time. I’m practically drooling as I take in the shapely curve of her ass, the way her round, perky boobs bounce with her movements. Her skin is this gorgeous golden tan, and I know from experience that it’s just as soft as it looks. Just watching her, my dick’s getting harder by the second.

“I didn’t wanna kill the mood last night, but there’s something you need to know,” she says as she snatches up her sleep shorts and starts to put them on.

Uh oh. The tone in her voice makes my stomach drop and kills my boner. “What’s up?” I ask, sitting up again and raking a hand through my hair.

She adjusts the waistband of her shorts on her hips, looking over at me. “That thing I was gonna tell you, about the swimming hole?”

“What about it?”

Quinn blows out a breath, stooping to grab her tank top off the ground, shaking it out to find the hem. “You friend Reid,” she says as she pulls her top on overhead. She smooths it down over her abdomen, locking eyes with me again. “I think he knows.”

I furrow my brow. “Knows what?”

She gives me a look and repeats herself. “Heknows, Jaxon.”

“Nuh uh, no way,” I grumble, shaking my head. “He would’ve said something.”

My head’s spinning.Could Reid really know? And if so, would he tell?

“Maybe I’m wrong,” Quinn sighs, walking back over to the bed. She stops at the edge, folding her arms over her chest. “But I saw you come back to the swimming hole after Logi and I did, and Reid was watching you. And then he looked right at me like he knew something.”

“Fuck,” I growl, moving to the edge of the bed and throwing my legs over. I grab for Quinn, pulling her closer.

Standing between my legs, she sets her hands on my shoulders, looking down at me with wide hazel eyes. I reach up to take her face in my hands, bringing it down to meet mine. “I’ll take care of it,” I murmur before stamping my lips over hers, kissing her deeply, hoping she doesn’t taste the apprehension on my tongue.

“Mmm,” Quinn hums as she returns my kiss, melting into it for a few moments before she pushes at my chest and pulls back to break it. “I’ve really gotta get going.”

“I know.” I press one last kiss to her lips before releasing her waist. “Go. Get outta here before I throw you back on this bed and spend the whole day finding new ways to make you come.”

I see a shiver run through Quinn at my suggestion, a mischievous glint in her eye amid the coppery shimmers of her wolf as she takes a couple of steps backwards toward the door. “Don’t tempt me.”

The bomb that Quinn dropped about Reid earlier has been weighing heavy on my mind since. Following the morning training session with the reserve squad recruits, I head to the dining hall to grab some lunch and find that he’s already posted up at our usual table, munching on a sandwich and chatting with Brock. I wish I could get him alone; find out what he knows. Find out who else he’s told.

I grab some food and take a seat opposite him, trying to act cool while feeling decidedly uncomfortable in his presence. I hate feeling like this, especially with a close friend like Reid- I need to clear things up with him sooner rather than later. It’s gonna have to be later, though, because the next thing I know, Theo’s sliding in to sit beside me, Brooke next to him, and Quinn across from her. The girls are chatting about some IT program or something, and as much as I want to, I don’t risk a glance in Quinn’s direction, digging into my sandwich instead.

“Well, well, well…” Theo says menacingly, turning to me.

I try to swallow down the bite of sandwich I’m chewing, but my throat is suddenly incredibly tight.

Don’t. Panic.

I swallow past the lump in my throat, turning to Theo and arching a brow. “What’s up, dude?”

He grins smugly. “Oh nothing. Just finally figured out why you’ve been so damn chipper lately, that’s all.”

Busted.

My heart drops. But wait- if he knew about me and Quinn, he wouldn’t be teasing me, he’d be beating my face in. This can’t be about his sister- but if it isn’t, then what the hell is he on about?

I take another bite of my sandwich to buy me a moment to think, arching a brow and turning to him as I swallow. “What are you talking about?”

Theo chuckles, elbowing me. “Oh c’mon, bro, don’t deny it. You’ve been hooking up with someone.”

My eyes immediately fly to meet Quinn’s and the panic in hers is evident. I try my best to stay calm as I look back to Theo, his hazel-eyed gaze so similar to his sister’s.
