“I’m serious. Sex with Mer was wild and crazy, yes, but it was hollow. When you and I do it, it means something. She and I fucked to try to feel something…to feel anything.”
Nodding, I knew he was right. No matter how rough he was with me, I never questioned the connection we had between us.
He went on, “And eventually, we both had so much resentment, it was just over. Hell, she resented me so much she fucked my best friend. Probably good one of us put the final nail in the coffin.”
“So, why let her back into your life when she showed up that day?”
“Well, as I recall, some cute little blonde told me I should because she wasn’t interested in dating me.”
I blushed. “I just thought pushing you away would make it easier on everything. I didn’t think you’d want me since I’m damaged goods.”
“First of all, you’re not damaged goods. I like you a little rough around the edges,” he shot me a wink. “I also need to apologize to you.”
“For what?”
“For that night that things got out of hand, and I let things go too far with Marisol.”
I knew the night to which he was referring. It was the night I went out with Ted, and he was so upset, he fucked her to try to forget about me.
“Ty, I’m not saying I condone what you did, but we were both stupid that night. We both used other people to try to get over each other.”
“I just never apologized. I’m truly sorry.”
I leaned forward to kiss him. “All is forgiven.”
“Okay, Kansas, I spilled the details about my past love life. According to our deal, I believe it’s your turn.”
Taking a deep breath, I tried to figure out where to even begin.
